2) If Haley Adams is really having orgies with transgender people I have to grudgingly admit she is at least slightly cooler than I thought.

does anybody have any long form/rigorous refutations of Stephan Molyneux?

this is a review of his book, the art of argument, which is supposed to be a guide to logic and philosophy, written by a guy getting a PhD in philosophy specializing in logic

https://medium.com/@cianchartier/a-review-of-stefan-molyneuxs-the-art-of-the-argument-2c1c83fa7802

there's probably some breadtube stuff that debunks his specific lovely beliefs. but since a lot of people seem to find him convincing because he's always talking about logic, reason, and making arguments, pointing out how little he knows about those things can be useful. he gets stuff wrong that would sink someone in a basic undergrad logic class, whether taught through a philosophy department or a math/CS department.

edit: here's a review of the book arguing against the political philosophy aspects of it:

I'm seeing an uptick in nazi-incels appropriate up-the-ra iconography so it begs the question, was Irish nationalism primarily a left wing movement or what? I know sinn-fein is left-nationalist etc

The republican movement split around the 1920s during the Irish civil war. There are more complex reasons for the violence but one factor was that one side wanted to use our independance to bring about a true socialist republic of the workers and the other side just wanted a society that was britain without a king or queen.

That left-wing faction led to the sinn féin of today which used to be a lot more marxist-leninist but is somewhere between social democracy and democratic socialist today.

Didn't know about that. My uncle has a restaurant in Burien, and is an immigrant himself. From our discussions, there doesn't seem to be much of a problem there, but judging from the fact that he spends 14+ hours on the business each day, it may be just a matter of not paying attention.

JFK Jr. was a loser like most other Kennedys. Boomers get teary-eyed because they think of the little boy saluting JFK's casket and not the rich socialite who did stupid poo poo like George magazine.

Can someone explain what’s going on with soccer?

some Seattle and/or Portland fans started bringing the Iron Front banner (three arrows) on huge flags in the team colors to wave around during games

the league, and I think the Portland team management, said "hey no politics here, you little Kaepernicks"

Nazis came to Seattle a couple of weekends ago to harass soccer fans, which ended up with Drew Carey buying free drinks for the locals who were being harassed

and, now, this: the Portland and Seattle fan organizations staged a huge thing, apparently the players from both teams got involved? it's meant to be especially poignant because Seattle and Portland are pro soccer rivals

Yeah, the Bronze Age Collapse is a thing and we still don't have a good explanation for what caused it. It happened to every civilization on the shores of the Med in very short order, and the reprecussions were such that every inland city state was also affected and none of them seem to have held on for much longer.

Explanatory theories start at "a volcanic eruption creates a tsunami which wipes out everyone on the shore" and get as zany as "collapse of the original Rock of Gibraltar allows incredible amounts of water into the proto-Med, which was much less full before somehow. Also maybe this accounts for the common Great Flood myth?"

Reading Amos Nur and Eric Cline has pretty well convinced me that a series of earthquakes kicked off a trade collapse.

There's a lot of parallels to how integrated global trade is nowadays and how we're staring down the barrel of a bunch of exceptionally nasty natural disasters due to climate change.
