Beksinski lost his wife and son in the late 90s and that kind of thing can completely change a person's artistic style. People who deal with tragedy often can't go back to doing what they did before. Notice how the faces in the newer photomanipulation work are all pained and horrified, where in his older paintings the morbid imagery is a lot more serene and quiet. He didn't think of his paintings as creepy, but his newer work expresses loss and dispair pretty clearly. It's not very well done, but he had already established himself as a painter and wanted to explore other things, and he had the opportunity to do that. His paintings and drawings are among my favorite artwork, and his computer art makes be feel really sad for what he went through in his final years. E: pagesnipe. I like his doorway paintings best Croisquessein has a new favorite as of 22:42 on Mar 1, 2016 |

Amazing. My favourite motif of his was the cross, especially the one that looked like a spider had hatched from it's cocoon. Edit: found it Jorgos Nuuh has a new favorite as of 23:53 on Mar 1, 2016 |

Fair enough, not a cross. He still did do more 'crucifixion'-themed pieces with similar 'crosses'. Wikipedia used to have a very useful bit about crucifixion in anime, too bad it's gone now.

Cachama are about the most harmless fish I can imagine (despite getting up to nearly man sized) so this is a little hard to believe.
