The best thing about 'its okay to be white' is that even though people were warned of it when the 4chan posts were found, people still acted in the way 4chan wanted/predicted, and completely discredited themselves. 4chan loves 'progressives' who hold racial double standards, because they can take a slogan they would love, like 'its okay to be black', and subsitute white into it see them go rabid.

it's okay to be black and it's okay to be white are different messages in our cultural context, black pride and white pride are much different things, namely because of the amount of oppression there has been for minorities over generations. black pride is pride in survival in circumstances that have worn away at a large part of the group and prevented many of them in climining in class, whereas a lot of white people were born into generational wealth. the posters were put up by a hate group anyway, to my understanding, and any amount of positivity garnered from them is severely dampened by knowing where they came from. of course, i think there should be some kind of positivism for white allies and people should stop telling white people jokes end up sounding like nonsensical hate. it's not "logical" but saying what you feel like saying isn't always the best idea, if you want to accomplish societal change you need people on your side motivated instead of acting like they're all garbage all the time, imo. plus there's a lot of class privilege that comes with that reminds me of the poo poo with the WV coal miners. i have an aunt in an inter-racial relationship who came from africa but is a trump supporting conservative. there's such a thing as poor white people who did not oppress anyone beyond being born. no ones identity really defines which side they are on.
