BEHEAD THOSE WHO INSULT GENTOO
I have a good job with great heathcare and I still pay $50 for a doctors visit and either $10 or $20 in copays for medication.

One time I was switching between insurances to the work insurance, and was uncovered for a month.

My gabapentin out of pocket cost: $880
My prozac out of pocket: $63
My Lamictal out of pocket: $290

So over $1000 for generic drugs.

e: If I'd gotten hurt or real sick, I would have spent easily $10,000 out of pocket to go to the hospital.

I'm accidentally a suicide bomber!

The craziest thing is that we mandate that people by car insurance, but people lose their loving mind of you tell them that everyone should be forced to have health insurance.

Lol that Americans are more concerned with having to use their uninsured motorist coverage than to watch someone die in the streets

Edit: VVVV lol, this is still America, bub. Healthcare is a privilege, not a right. Also, we deserved 9/11.

lol that the dialogue is

rather than

"people should be able to receive the healthcare they need"

Being a former reality tv star, I'm willing to bet that trump will start a Running Man style game show to let people pay for their healthcare. Trump will force Arnold to compete just because he blames him for the apprentice failing.

And then my insurance company sent me a lovely letter saying "we weren't going to pay for any of this anyway because you haven't hit your $1000 deductible, but we're also not going to apply the entire $700 towards your deductible because we feel like your in network doctor charges too much."

My insurance is considered a Cadillac plan such that I have to pay extra income tax on it as a taxable benefit.

Can you explain the whole "cadillac plan" thing to a non american. Because if someone says a "cadillac plan" I'm thinking bloated, old and poorly made and totally impractical.

It's an extra tax if your insurance coverage is too good (over 10,200 in annual premiums).

But I just looked and apparently it wasn't supposed to start until 2018 and it's part of the ACA so that means it'll never happen. I guess the extra benefit tax I've been paying must be for life insurance and not health insurance.

Regardless, the point is that I have incredibly expensive insurance and they still dick you over constantly.

Just LoL'd because tons of US hospitals are going crazy broke because poor people like me show up, literally begging for treatment because we are dying, then default on medical expenses because we have no money or coverage.

I was mauled by a pit bull 3 years ago and got a 10K bill for ER, X-Rays, and treatment. When the bill came I had to go talk to about 16 different people and fill out like a billion forms but eventually the bills stopped showing up. My ex-GF was a nurse and told me that in urban area hospitals it's not uncommon for about a third of treatment to go uncovered and unpaid, because no one is stopping to check a bullet-riddled mother of 3 for her insurance card...

But no really keep building tanks (even when 4 star generals BEG congress to stop building them) and billion dollar defense contracts to Lockheed Martin.

Hah, no way.
They will go back to their old tricks of dumping sick people in parks or outside other hospitals.
You think a hospital will threat a dozen or so people without one paying for it?
gently caress no. You are going to see Americans dying in corridors and waiting rooms more often now, and houses being seized because one ore more got cancer and being charged $10000 for use of a recycled cardboard thow up dish..
