If I could find something like that Volvo, I'd be happy, but all I can find are things like $9500 for a 14 year old Civic. And I went through the trouble of finding the youtube video referenced: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAscdcz71uM Edit: Found something even better! Heads up that that 327 is probably around 200HP since it was measured SAE gross. Not that it really matters since for a 6 pack, two whittlin' knives, an Alan Jackson CD and $12.86 you can buy an intake manifold, cam and carb to make it make decent power. Only problem could be a set of headers that fit.

This isn't a craigslist post, but figured this was the best place to get this kind of opinion. Found this Toyota (Corolla? I don't even know what year) sitting to the side at the local salvage yard. It's all there, but it's been sitting for years. Scrap man says I can have it for $375 with title. What exactly is it, and would this be a good buy? djdanno13 fucked around with this message at 23:26 on Feb 14, 2012 |

PainterofCrap posted:I do not know much about Swedish iron. Anyone want to hazard guesses at what might be the biggest issues with this car before I go check it out? Suspension bushings, broken odometer, probably nothing major so long as they've changed the oil at least once. I'd probably put a new timing belt and water pump on it just to be safe These motors tend to be a bit noisy in the valvetrain, so a light ticking/clacking is probably nothing to worry about. Although you might be able to use that to your advantage if the guy knows nothing about cars. Depending on the miles you might be able to talk him down a bit, especially if the odometer gear is busted, and it's not registering new miles. I paid a lot less than that for my '92, but that's not typical. I got a helluva deal, and mine had some body damage. I say buy it, fix what needs to be fixed, and drive it till the apocalypse.

The car is black with black leather and suede interior other than the described problems the car is in great shape it starts and runs no problem it also drives but the transmission has been shifting hard lately. The rest of the body and interior is very clean. I can be reached by email at troutriverlawnservice at yahoo. 944s have one of the best chassis to come out of Germany in the 70s, so good it was still above par in the early 90s. They just had boring base engines, and better higher trim engines.

If only there wasn't two decades of not garbage coming out of most places + the 90s. EDIT: You know, I have to say I somewhat take it back. I thought there would be a ton of cars but for $3000 or less, which is what 944s seem to be available for, the pickens of what I would say are definitely better than a 944 chassis and/or engine wise are slim. In that range were talking non turbo Z32, Miata, turbo DSM, Mustang GT and that's about it. Lord Gaga fucked around with this message at 19:11 on Feb 16, 2012 |

Though this does appear to be an extremely mint 1992 Honda Accord, I find this to be a VERY optimistic price. I would actually go look at this car for $2500 as I've always liked this body style.
