How'd you pick the route? Was it just spots and roads your guide new about?

Thanks guys, glad you like it, fun to make.

The route was loosely established but our guide would pick roads that day based on how he felt we could handle it. For the most part it was pretty easy riding, days 1 and 2 were actually the hardest. On day 1 it rained and we got bogged down in clay (I didn't get any good shots of this unfortunately) and day 2 were the roughest roads that saw a couple guys spill. Long (our guide) was awesome and overall a great guide, pretty laid back but knew when to push the pace, and a funny guy to boot. One of the guys also had a GPS tracker on him the whole time so we could view where we went afterwards as a Google Earth file.

If anyone is interested in the route we took it's the "Northeast Loop" option on OffroadVietnam.com. We were scheduled to do the Northwest loop but changed it at the last minute (they were cool with it) because we thought the NE one would have better scenic stuff. No regrets there, but the whole country is beautiful so you really can't go wrong. If I could do it over I'd do a slightly longer tour.

I really like the red/white (my sm610 is grey). In the video you can see that green light on the left of the display. It's to let you know that the lights are. But they're always on, so it's just annoying.

Haha, exactly right. When I got mine the headlight was burned out and it was still on. It's just the "this bike has lights equipped" indicator.

Thanks; I'd only seen the one pic I posted cribbed from the Custom Fighters forum.

Is it just me or would a lot of 'fighters benefit from owners not trying to make the headlight configuration as ridiculous as possible? Everyone's tastes are different, but they look so much better to me with either a single oval or Dominator-style dual configuration. I absolutely cannot wrap my head around trying to have it look like there's an alien/transformer/robot/skull in front of your triples.

Case-in-point, here's the same bike:

Even if he color-matched it, to me at least, it'd still look silly, although I'll admit it's not as bad as some of the other abominations I've seen.

I'm just not stupid enough to actually go through with it. The only way I would is if I knew the driver and we planned it out.

Nope, definitely not just you. I can't stand those stupid mask looking things people use, especially when a simple bucket can be cheaply and easily found and look much better and more "used what I found."

Those are, respectively, the 500cc R32 from 1923 which was BMW's first motorcycle, with what at the time was an optional headlight, and the R7 of the mid to late 1930s (I think) which was a prototype of which they only made a couple.

You may notice the R32 has no front brake, and the rear brake actually uses a piece of wood as a brake pad on that false rim (the extra black ring in the spokes) kind of like a bicycle brake.
