Male Man posted:Did you have a whole bunch of saves floating around? New Vegas' engine apparently likes to peak at all your saved games, so if you build up too many it can cause crippling slowdown. I've heard that because of this, Skyrim on a PS3 gets unplayable if you build up more than ~15MB of save data. Speaking of which is there a way to manually delete certain save files for the PC version? I'm not exactly sure where the files save to.

My Documents\My Games\FalloutNV I think you can also right click the save on the "Load" or "Save" menus - I forget which. You dudes should all be using CASM, which is a vastly superior way to save - it automatically keeps a specified amount of auto-saves/quick saves and just overwrites old ones. Very handy.

I very seriously doubt it has anything to do with the Gamebryo, itself.

Have there been any amazing mods released since Lonesome Road came out? I stopped playing after I picked up the DLC and need to update everything again. I figure I might as well grab some new mods while I do that.

Do any mods exist that get rid of item durability or at least mitigate it? I started playing recently and I'm loving the game, but after playing Skyrim I find it ridiculous the rate at which weapons and armor degrade, as well as the fact that even partially repairing only my most-used stuff costs several thousand caps. EDIT: I'm currently going through the Old World Blues DLC; how the hell does the game expect me to pay 7,000 caps to repair an energy weapon that's still over 50%?! So, Requiem doesn't seem to play nice with the NV DLC. I'm not sure which, but it seems to be linked to Lonesome Road - all my saves from before setting foot on the road work, while those on and after (without any gear from said road) cause crashes. Anyone know what the deal is, or how I'd go about checking it in FNVEdit? Edit: And apparently it's only on saves that visited the Road before installing the mod. WTF? TOOT BOOT posted:Is there any way I can play Gamebryo games with mods through Steam, without having to use some weird loader every time? Using it for the initial setup is fine. Once you use FOMM to arrange your load order, it isn't technically necessary to start the game through FOMM. The load order will remain as you changed it, regardless of how you execute the game. The only thing is, you need to get NVSE running if you have any mods reliant on it, and I'm not entirely positive NVSE will start on its own if you use the basic executable Steam provides.

Personally I prefer to use the console to give myself Raul's companion perk "Full Maintenance", which reduces weapon and armor degradation by 75%. Bring up the console and type player.addperk 0015d2bc to get it. This requires that FalloutNV.esm is at the very top of your load order (which it should be), otherwise the first two digits in the perk number will change depending on how far down the load list it is. If 75% is too much, replacing the number with 0015c610 instead will give you "Regular Maintenance" which reduces degradation by just 50%. Achievements will be disabled after typing in the code, but restarting the program will enable them again, so just save and restart to get them back. I haven't looked on Nexus in a while, but does anyone know of a mod made that makes more use of the Currency system in new Vegas? I always thought it would've been neat if all/most NCR missions paid in NCR bills, all Legion missions paid in Legion coin, and all House/Vegas Missions paid in Caps, just as an extra incentive to push the player one way or another in siding with a major faction by game's end (Since Legion missions would pay way more than NCR ones).

Well, it's a long time coming, but it's finally here. Mysterious Broadcast/Old World Blues: Extended is up and ready to go. The mod not only adds 90 more tracks to the station added by the DLC, but it also changes the name to the more appropriate "Old World Blues" and reformats the station's inner workings so there should be no repeats and hopefully none of the weird glitches that the station has stock.

Kind of a long shot, but does anyone have a copy of Signature Weapons 2.22? 2.23 removes the clip size increase from "bottomless". I get why Strudel Man changed it (if you go over a clip size of 255, it rolls back around), but dammit, I want a .357 with 50 rounds crammed in a 6-round cylinder

Well, Old World Blues radio's only sort of working. It plays fine for, like, 15 minutes and then goes silent. Doesn't start again unless I quit the game and start it again. Might there be a useful console command for that? Frankly, I'd like to take that mod's music and add it to the pool that ALL the radio stations draw from, especially the Sierra Madre broadcast. It might make playing Dead Money a little easier if I had more to listen to than tap code, assholes, and "Do you have problems? Are you feeling logy? Are you beset by megrims and consternations? Come to the Sierra Madre Casino and all will be better!" I will say it's a great set of music, though if I were doing a radio mod I'd give Black Mountain Radio a playlist more appropriate for a gang of weirdos.

If it's playing wrong it's usually the fault of cells needing to be reset and that's about as long in-game as it takes for them to do so. That SHOULD fix it. Also, I was at one point considering doing a Black Mountain Radio extender that'd feature a lot of deliberately low quality recordings meant to demonstrate that Tabitha hasn't taken any care of anything. I don't know if I'll ever get around to it, though.
