I think the point is Z3n is a space cowboy on the edge of a frontier unknown to man, he's out there pushing the limits, trail braking into the abyss. Finding out where the edge of the razor is, turning to face the darkness and revving his 690 into it's vast gaze. You gotta live this to learn it bro.
Note his foot position. He's actually not using all the available lean angle, and he's using his toes dragging to gauge lean angle, rather than his knee.

Besides, you can't drag knee when there are cones in the way anyways. He's developed an awesome style around this sort of riding, and modded his bike for the same, look at how controlled it is when he pumps it through the slalom.

Is a dude like this racing actual road courses as well or is this his niche? Are pro racers able to pull stuff like that off...I mean, after some practicing I'm sure they could put down some good times, just seems like this is this guys 'big deal'.

Only 12 weeks to go till the madness starts again!

Sadly I think I'm working for all/most of the TT this year so will only get out to see practice nights :( I might be able to manage to get Senior Race day off to go see the last Superbike race from somewhere nice.

Might see if I can borrow a friends GoPro and record some of the mountain road on mad sunday :D

I guess that solves the knee out argument. :ms:

The dude is not doing ANYTHING fancy with his leans like we're taught and makes it look so easy.

I do an advanced rider course every two years and we do something similar to this but not quite as fast, the two skills he's using is looking where he wants to go very early and riding the rear brake almonst constantly.

When riding tight courses like this keeping your foot on the rear brake with a constant little bit of throttle keeps the bike stable when you change direction all the time.

If you start getting on and off the throttle and brake all the time it upsets the bike and you won't make the tight corners.

Guy on my local forum had a neat idea. Buy a bike for $500, fix it up enough to run, and drive it as far across Canada as possible until it blows up. Which happend in Nova Scotia.

He also got everyone he met to put their signature on it. Really cool.

Hahaha, that got a big ol  from me. He was probably referring to the south park episode with "fags". Or maybe not.

We do a local lunch with some of the ADV guys every Friday. I think we got our balls busted on by a couple of harley riders when they were leaving, "Hey, where them big ol beemers you guys ride, in the garage :smug:". A fellow TSR guy was "Eh they're probably in the shop".
