Problem is if you knock him down he'd be all confused and stay down for 3 days instead of trying to get up before 3 seconds

Small things occasionally get overlooked when big updates are shipped, i just like the human reaction of "wait... what?" from both players https://twitter.com/__Corn/status/1364287010412888065

I had to go read replies to the tweet to get it, too. At around 7 seconds, when Bison hits Dan in midair Dan gets teleported to the ground. The warp happens so fast though I didn't think anything of it. It just looked like 10 seconds of gameplay to me.

Yeah, in a game where serious players are looking at individual frames of animation (I remember SMUG getting roasted by his own chat at one point for standing still for 12 frames, or 1/5 of a second), I can see how they would notice that immediately, but to an untrained eye that was too fast to notice.

I honestly thought the glitch was the two characters jiggling at the end.

Antitonic posted:So in Wrestling Empire for the Switch, you can edit the rosters in the middle of career mode. I’ve been using that to force unlock characters. If, for example, you’re the only person left in a company, you get made Head Booker, and given all the titles. If that wasn’t enough, sometimes you end up cloned in a match. If that happens, both models share the controller.

Agents are GO! posted:Not sure what I'm missing there. I've watched it like 5 times. In this case, bison's j. mp is a juggle state, so what was expected to happen was that the bison player was supposed to get a combo, or a knockdown. Instead, teleportation and confusion result.

I always wonder what's up when I see something like that pop up on a specific single console release rather than a big multi-platorm one, and it's something so huge but is apparently uncommon enough that I've never seen it. It seems a lot easier to understand if it's a buggy game in general, but Spidey really didn't seem to be.

There is a great GDC talk about the animation compression they used for that game, and like most forms of compression it fails spectacularly when the tiniest thing goes wrong. It could be a disk drive that's slightly slower than spec, an overheated CPU generating rounding errors, or just some weird I/O, but since they're moving at the root level I would guess it's just not able to get the animation data into memory fast enough and once you miss a key frame there's no way for the program to recover.

This is a great watch even for less tech inclined folks I think. Putting common textures on disk in multiple places to optimize circular platter disk reads was pretty brilliant, and I also learned manhattan only has one alley

That's pretty neat...I'm surprised I never ran into a catastrophic failure or noticed particularly common glitches on twitter or whatever. Maybe I just missed out.

Corruptions instead of glitches, Vinny from Vinesauce checked out a corrupted version of the PS2 The Sopranos game and it's.. quite something. Possibly slightly Also spoilers for The Sopranos I guess. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yonhl6LrBQ&t=2260s The pissing glitch made me laugh so hard I had to take a few minute break from the video to collect myself.
