Generally speaking, having your clutch roll past you down the road tends to make even the baddest of bad asses squeeze out a little poo. I chalk this up to 'they're kids and they think they're invincible'.

My favorite part is when he strides on over there, shirtless and looking the wrong way down a highway, and decides to pick up the white hot clutch/pressure plate (can't make it out very well) as his buddy yells at him not to. I just assume the entire build was like that.

The closest I could think of, based on your keywords of "very fast", "full lock", "residential street", is the video of Subaru's record attempt at Isle of Man. Except in this the passenger keeps very, very quiet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jSYiU-JdRw In case you're disappointed that it's not the correct video, here's something to cheer you up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2k6_k7K_ixg -- edit: gently caress. So for the past couple years, Robby Gordon has been bringing a trophy truck to the Dakar race, with moderate success. There is no doubt that its the fastest vehicle in the race, but he has never been able to keep it upright often enough to actually win more than a few stages. Well, it looks like his influence is starting to rub off. Red Bull just entered what are basically 2 trophy trucks for this years Dakar, with the two top drivers for each. Should be interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7Ld-UW2a2I

Lord Gaga posted:It seems like the #23 car was simply reckless in trying to shut down his passing attempt. Is that the right way of looking at it? quote:Shame about the ending.... stupid passing attempt! Going from the Steward's report on the incident - quote:There was an accident at T1 between 2 cars, with a third car just behind, in the sports sedan race. Car 11 was a V8 Supercar, Car 23 was once a VL Commodore, and car 27 was once a Camaro. Car 23 only had 5th gear, so when coming on to the straight, car 11 drew alongside car 23 until the second half of the straight car 23 pulled ahead. Approaching T1, car 11 rolled off the throttle as he could see car 27 closing rapidly on them both and "could see what was about to happen". Car 23 turned in to T1 at the same point he did the lap before at the same speed he would normally as it was a 5th gear corner. Car 27, on the inside of both cars and therefore way off the racing line, ran into the back of car 23 with minimal if any overlap. Both cars spun to the outside of T1, with car 27 hitting car 23 a second time during the spin. Estimated speed at initial point of impact was 180km/h. I had access to video from cars 11 and 27 and I presented them both as evidence. I also called as witnesses the drivers of car 11 and 23, the DSO and the flag marshal who wrote the incident report. The defendant had one of his team as witnes (Above quoted directly from the Steward who laid charges on the driver of car 27) Driver of car 27 was deemed at fault as he was not on the racing line, he had not gone anywhere near the customary "Up to the B-Pillar" to consider a pass to be possible. Car 23 never saw Car 27 as his view was obsured by car 11. But according to driving standards, it's up to the competitor passing to make sure the overtake is safe - until you get your nose past the B-Pillar, the pass is not deemed to be safe if a collision occurs. Plus if you deemed not on the racing line, that's viewed very unfavorably in this situation. As far as I'm aware, the driver of Car 27 got a racing holiday.
