I tried having Jade go charm at first since it works so well on Sylvando, but felt dirty doing it so switched her to spears. (Act 2 Jade spoilers) I honestly think her reintroduction scene is someone wagging their finger at the player for sticking her in a bunny outfit and having her do sexy things to the enemy. It feels a little on the nose that she’s literally just her Allure tree. She kicks a lot of rear end with spears, though.

Rab is just too good with heavy wands. I have him running as a full on sage, essentially, and sometimes as an MP battery.

That's the one I've been using. I found a few of the more obvious ones on my own, but even with a map some of them are hard for me to spot.

I let slime quest auto run for nearly 200 turns and it did nothing but lose me tokens. Then it would be like wow jackpot you got 180 and I bounced, it's very cute but utter garbage.

Also is the google doc missing a puff-puff scene? I went around to get the trophy and it's not popping.

Slime Quest is very feast or famine. Sometimes you get an amazing loop where you're constantly in Slime Time (or getting some amazing Feeding Frenzies) and other times its 200 rounds where all you can manage is to fight (and lose) to two bosses.

Rab is 100% meant to be a sage and I don't know why he has a fist tree at all. He learns nonstop spells and abilities with it, there's a sidequest in a A2 town that rockets his Might and Mending power if you complete it (+50 to both just for doing it) and (insanely minor spoilers) his ultimate attack Pearly Gates goes off magical might.

Like it might be funny to see him do attack animations but that's the only boon I can think of.

You'll hit your head and say: 'Boy, how stupid could I have been. A moron could've figured this out. I must be a real dimwit. A pathetic nimnal. A wretched idiotic excuse for a human being for not having figured these simple puzzles out in the first place...As usual, you've been a real pantload!
I used that crossbow target guide as well. Some of them were at kind of odd camera angles that you wouldn't find while just wandering around even if you were looking for them.

Regarding Casino tokens. I found that there was usually a slot machine that was hot similar to how the slime ones would be randomly more lucky. Unfortunately there isn't a bunny girl to tell you which one so what I did was go in, do 10 pulls on each of the 5 machines I wanted to play on and see which ones paid out the most. Typically one of them would give me some good payouts. If none of them did I'd quit the game and restart. Once I found a machine that was 'hot' I'd just play that one until I was rolling in tokens. This worked pretty well as I hit the jackpot twice on the same machine in the first act. Could have just been RNG but I did the same thing in the second and it worked there too. Still took me probably 5 hours of playing to get enough tokens to load up everyone with a ridiculous amount of the gear but I wanted multiple metal swords and at the time thought that was the only way to get them. In retrospect I'd probably just get the spear in act 1 and a few of the golden tuxedos in 2.

I dunno, I think the machines might have a warm up period of several spins. Even in Act 2, it took several spins, at least 10, before the ridiculous luck for monster casino turned on. Was quite a surprise, too. It was like that Scary Door episode. “:gets jackpot: A casino where I’m always winning? This must be heaven. :gets another jackpot: A casino where I always win? That’s boring. This must be hell.”

IMHO, dual wield has more utility overall. But definitely get the gigaslash/gigiasmash abilities right after.

Maybe if you're doing harder monsters, but I did them around level 70.

They are definitely harder than the final boss though.

One tip is to use Veronica, since she can do thousands of damage per round. Especially if you have someone like Hendrik around to refill her mana.

I did well with oomphing the MC and having him use his big fuckoff two-handed attack. Have Serena Buff and use Song of Ice.

I always had him attack the face, and he'd just gradually clear out the side thingies every now and then when they absorbed the attacks. They don't stay down, though, so I wouldn't focus on them.

I have a question about the ending. Talking about Yggdragon Ending just to be safe. Does it imply that every game in the series takes place in the same world, just after eons of change or whatever? I thought that the speech at the end about Yggdragon falling to darkness and how evil will probably rise again was strangely dark and dour only for it to cut to the DQ1 hero rising up and "oh poo poo!" happened as the credits started showing footage of the Dragonlord quest. Then it showed every game in the series and I kind of took it as a "wait is this supposed to all be the same world???" kind of thing. Also who was that in the after credits scene? It was kind of lost on me as I was talking to someone at the time.

Ojetor posted:

I found them a million times easier to be honest. Final boss has a buffed form you start against that's insanely tough (to me anywho) and a apparent weaker version if you use a item on him. Mileage may vary.

Continuing post game spoiler. The main issue I have using any magic attacks in this fight is that one guy seems to have bounce casted on him at all times and the other one just has really high magic resistance. It sucks!

Pretty sure the guy standing in front of the castle as the Yggdragon finishes talking is the DQ1 protagonist, implying that the Dragonlord from DQ1 is the corrupted Yggdragon or something. The one being addressed in bed in the after credits scene is probably the DQ3 hero, since I think what the mother is saying is literally the first words you hear as you wake up in that game.

Raising air is magical damage and has a big multiplier attached to it. The later physical stuff can be nice with buffs. He also gets the buff remover in claws if you want that.

All the early stuff before raising air pretty much sucks though, yeah.

Post-ending scene spoiler that definitely isn't Samuel L Jackson collecting DQ heroes to make the Luminary Initiative: The scene is how DQ3 starts, and given how much Act 3 is basically a love letter to DQ3, including sharing the same credit music, I'm sticking with Erdrick.
