Before the official black and chrome version was released, someone made a fan edit, which was black and white but also removed all the dialogue tracks while leaving rest of the sound and music in place. I don't know how anyone would go about finding this edit, but it is my favorite version of the movie.

It really did. When I showed it to a couple of friends who'd never seen the movie, there were only two or three moments where I had to explain what was going on, the rest of the time the story was perfectly clear just from the visuals.
