I find your lack of faith... disturbing
Rickels was good in a high cardio, super active kind of way but he had a string of injuries in 2013 and I don't think he ever recovered

-Big personality
-White guy from the midwest who usually fights in the midwest
-Takes risks and goes for finishes
-Gets fed cans every now and then to mask his status as an also-ran
-Has been in the promotion for years, so pretty much anyone who likes Bellator knows him

But mostly...

Aside from the shady commission, Bellator's only other reason to go to Mulvane is because they have Rickels. His house is a 5 minute drive from the venue so everyone around knows him and just putting him on a card there ensures a good gate. He's basically the only fighter in Bellator that can sell out a venue.

Also most people seem to come only for him, because win or lose half the crowd just leaves after his fight is over, whether or not he was in the main event, which give some insight into how little Bellator attendees actually care about Bellator's "good" fighters. Probably the reason that they fill their prelims with locals that no one outside the area has ever heard of and run more postliminary fights after the main event ends.

I posted about it when the movie was new (I'm a Pynchon reader so I was like one of six people who was super eager to see it) . He's pretty good and has a few lines.

Good.

Prior to the surgery, Santos (21-18) told MMA Fighting that he was planning on fighting 10 more times before retiring. A day after the procedure, "Cyborg" has yet to know when he will be cleared to train again.

"They didn’t tell me anything about timetable for recovery yet," he said. "I’ll be released from hospital today, and then they will tell me how long it will take. But it will be fast. I’ll be back soon."

Not so good.

iirc it was more likely internal bitter bjj guy politics while cleverly hinting that drysdale was Bad at BJJ and thus not in the same class as those guys. Like i said, they were once close pals or something and then some stupid bjj specific supp drama happened

Reminder that Invicta is tomorrow on fight pass, although it just lost its co-main. Headliner is Alexa Grasso though (who I could have sworn the UFC signed but I guess she has been injured for ages and so is fighting in Invicta again), who seems to be pretty good.

I think rotational shocks to the brain are way worse than linear ones for concussions. Cyborg was moving in straight, so maybe that was enough to keep him conscious throughout.
