The cost of a lovely vacuum-formed base is really low, especially if you order thousands.

Also 28 minifigs! LEGO has said they are the one of the most expensive elements they make in the documentary that goes to the LEGO factory.

That chess set is really cool and a bit out of nowhere. I like that.

In completely unrelated news I'm 95% finished on a complete overhaul of brick badger's front end. The rest is mostly internal pages that no one ever looks at so I can do them live.

The main reason I'm posting it here is that (a) I know some of you only ever use the raw pages so might never see it and (b) I'm really really pleased with how it turned out. I enjoy the little icon thingies on each set immensely and am trying to think of some more to add.

Anyway... so pleased that I treated myself to Earth Defence HQ  I'd been waiting for it to get discounted more but this will have to do (now watch it go to half price just to spite me). I almost got the Kingdoms Carraige Ambush as well as it had dropped to close to half price on one of the euro amazons but it seems to have gone back up now.

That's the official reason Lego rejected the Serenity by the way, if I'm not just repeating something everyone already heard

quote:

The primary reason we have decided not to consider the Firefly IP for a LEGO product is the Inara Serra character, who is a "companion," or prostitute. This character and her profession are central to the story in the Firefly TV series. The character is inextricably linked to the story, and it isn’t possible to produce the model and license the IP without creating a link between the LEGO brand and this character.

I feel like that's as flimsy as saying "Cursing in Mandarin is central to the show and we don't want kids to translate them and figure out what they mean."

Drove 5 hours from Charleston and my first stop was at the LEGO store in Duluth, GA, where I was at first disappointed to not find the LEGO store. Turns out they relocated to a different section, MUCH bigger store. I saw a family of 4 feeling through Season 7 minifigs :3

They had mostly found what they were looking for except for the computer programmer, I was on a search for as many space marines as I can find, which was not all picked out. Wound up with 3 space marines, a computer programmer who I traded with the little girl for a bag pipe player since someone posted it had sweet details :3: bunny man who's just awesome, and a sweet monkey man. Gonna head back there on Sunday to try and find some Aztec warriors (feel for the head gear and confirm it's not a space marine with the spear?) and evil knights (feel for the oval shield?)

I also wound up getting Obi Wan's Jedi Starfighter for $25 from the back since it was a bad box

Also he says the Monster one is out too.

VVV I saw Avengers and Series 7 Minifigs at this one specialist shop in Canberra yesterday. Didn't have time to go through them properly, so I just grabbed a couple. I got two daredevils, a hippy, a dark knight, a bunnyman, and Tarzan. They should come out more broadly in the next week, I guess.

So I have a lot of Galaxy Patrol dudes from S7. I have 24 of them, and was going to army build, but then realized I don't have as much space stuff as I'd like to make this feasible. I would like to part with 20 of them, for the cost of what I paid at TRU. $4.31 each so $86.20 for the whole set. I didn't know if this should go in the trading thread or here, so if this needs to be moved I'll gladly do so.

Brick Badger looks great! I love the icons, particularly the cup for 'best price recorded'. I know this is asking the insane and I fully expect that it'll not be possible / too much work but would there be a way of being able to compare prices across different Amazons on one set?

At the moment, if I want to look at the price of the Maersk train at UK, FR, IT, ES, I have to click on the country, load themes, load trains, remember the price and then click on the next country, load themes, load trains etc etc. Is it possible to load all of the prices next to each other for an item, or is it possible to just be able to stick to a theme page and change the country? I know it might not be...but if you don't ask... :D

Edit: Ignore me - read your blog and found it: http://brickbadger.com/raw/----x Legend!

I'd be most interested in the Polar sets for white baseplates but given how scarce baseplates are, I won't hold my breath!

I am absolutely stoked re: the Western theme getting 10k votes. I really hope it comes to fruition. I've only got the odd one or two Western sets (I picked up a couple of Indian figures at The Lego Show last week), so I'd love to have more.

ANCIENT Legos. There's an old electric motor, and a brick that says "Esso Service". What set is that? Bricklink doesn't list a set for the brick, Brickset doesn't have it period.

That's a nice haul. Some Samsonite gears, and a lot of nice old bricks. The Esso Service brick was in this set. Are any of the HO cars or other metal parts in there? It may have also been in a service pack of printed bricks, but I'm not sure about that. I'd love to see more pictures of what you have there.

Those gears and thick grey base plates look like they're from the early to mid 1970s. Not sure if that helps, but a database would have to go way back to remember those bits.
