That would persist in the save data and thus make it crash every time it tried to load, and there could be all sorts of weird number problems that weren't an issue on the original PS2 version but don't work in Unreal Engine, similar to what is going on from this post: ToxicFrog posted:The latest Dolphin Emulator Progress Report is a wild ride

From what I understand, both Joel and Vinny have a magical ability to break just about any game, considerably more so if the game is already prone to break. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loJ6eV5m31Y

The difference is Joel breaks games by doing things that make perfect sense to him but the devs never expected anybody to do, Vinny just tries to play the game normally Internal vs external glitches

Joel has one of my favorite Sims videos where he uses a mod that adds fighting and wrestling moves to the game. He makes Link and Kirby live together and it's got Link killing death himself with a body slam only to run home in time to kill a mail man and enjoy a pizza. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qpBRf6XNf8

And almost in a weird compensatory sense, Vinny spends a lot of time breaking games deliberately too. There's perhaps no more perfect example of this than how he corrupted the PS2 Sopranos game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYI_sq67kzo

Turned out rockstar left a bunch of stuff they shouldnt have in the games. quote:Over the past couple of days, modders have discovered what some have referred to as "the Holy Grail" for Rockstar fans hidden within the game; Music cut from the GTA Trilogy is still present in the files, but instructed not to play; developer notes and full game scripts can be uncovered; and arguably most troubling for Rockstar was the re-discovery of the highly controversial 'Hot Coffee' sex minigame which was cut from San Andreas. https://www.gamesradar.com/gta-trilogy-back-on-pc-after-unlicensed-music-and-hot-coffee-files-were-removed/

It's due to the camera zooming in while breaking, the player is both breaking and sverving.

Dead Space 3 has an equippable weapon mod called the 'Full Zoom Scope' which applies this overlay to your screen when you aim. Player 2 Isaac is in the center but on the left edge there you can see Carver, because the developers forgot to make your player invisible while you're in the zoom. All that happens is the FOV gets more narrow, so it's like your dude is zooming in your own third person camera. I have no idea why they did this CJacobs has a new favorite as of 23:40 on Nov 15, 2021 |

I had to fix the exact same bug in my game -- when you go into binoculars mode, your ship has to disappear, as do things like the indentation the ship makes in the water. Along similar lines, there's what happens to Jensen's model when he goes into a vent:

To add to the ongoing saga of the GTA3 remasters, the dialogue in Matt McMuscles' copy of the game is completely borked. Everyone talks like characters straight out of Starfox SNES. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXdPJJ4aHnY

flavor.flv posted:That sure sounds like it would be funny, maybe someday here will be a video of that happening without some goober screeching over it Sorry, this is just how video game videos are now. At least Matt is generally a pretty cool guy who knows the value of being silent to let the game 'speak'. Plus, inconsistent bugs are actually a really difficult thing to consistently capture, so you kinda just have to accept the form you see them.

A lot of the issues in the GTA remasters seem to be because they pointed automated upscaling tools at them and let 'er rip and didn't double-check what they came up with

Xboxes always been x86-stuff so porting stuff from and to them from PC is no-brainer.
