Väyrynen used to be a big deal in the Centre party. A few years ago he was given the title of "honorary party chairman", with the understanding he would take this accomplishment and retire, and stop bothering the current party leadership. Instead, he started his own party, of which he is the only member, and said that he can be member of both parties because he is cool like that. Sipilä tried to kick him out of the Centre party, but because of their arcane rules, only the local chapter leader can do that, and Paavo is the leader of his local chapter, and of course refused. Now he is running against the Centre party, and beating their actual candidate Vanhanen in the polls.

The preliminary votes are closed, and 36.4% of eligible voters decided early. That's up from 33.3% last time. Total voter participation last time was 72.8% on the first round, maybe the downward trend will be cut short this time around.

Ite äänestin Paavoa jo aikoja sitten, ja töissä kehotin myös paria tekemään samoin. Mitä mieltä olette mahdollisesta lakosta aktiivimallin takia? Ite ajattelen että SAK yrittää pyydystää ihailijoita nyt, kun kansalaisaloite yms., kun lakia oltiin valmistelemassa ei heitä kiinnostanut. Ammattiyhdistysliike myös vastustaa perustuloa, joten voivat haistaa paskan.
