Pros of being a boomer with no seatbelts and getting "thrown clear of the accident": you are not in the accident
Cons: there wouldn't have been an accident if you were still in the car

I am so tired of road raging assholes. My drive to work is just 5 miles but somehow managed to squeeze one in there. What possesses someone to go so crazy, almost hitting my car, then speeding ahead to block the road so he could scream at me before finally tearing off again? All I did was give my windshield washer a quick squirt because my windshield was dirty. I shouldn't have to worry about what my escape options are if I get attacked by another motorist.

Master of the high hat!
Were they tailgating you? I've heard that you can spray wiper fluid to help tailgaters back off, but never tried it myself. Mainly because I keep forgetting it's a thing. Maybe they took that as an aggressive move?

Five degrees to starboard!

Having been on the receiving end of windshield washer mist a couple times as a motorcyclist, I'm aware of drivers behind me whenever I want to use my washer and will wait until there's nobody back there. On the other hand, somebody else's washer mist is an extremely mild annoyance at worst, and there's no reason a reasonable driver would ever react like that.

I enjoy using everyone else's washer fluid to clean my screen, the reservoir in a miat is tiny and annoying to keep refilling every 4th screen wash :v:

I think it was someone in this thread who said that their reaction to road ragers is to smile and wave as if the person just paid you a compliment. I unintentionally did this today (I thought the other driver was a friend messing with me) and it's far better than the alternative. I thought this person was lost so I slowed down and lowered my window to help and was met with "what are you doing?!" I think his passenger was confused when I acted like he was an old pal that I hadn't seen in a while. Highly recommended.

Rolling an occupant's window down is the immediate precursor to hanging a gun out the side and blasting so read the room before you do this, you may be shot or rammed if the other car's occupants are aggressive and/or paranoid and the driver doesn't just stand on the brakes when your window comes down.

Yeah, I absolutely would not engage in the way that I did if I thought there was any anger involved but in this case I had no idea that I had done something that might have offended this person. I went from being mildly annoyed at someone not using their turn signal and not being able to keep their truck in one lane to, "Oh, he must be lost and want directions."

Signs that you definitely live in a first-world country full of well-adjusted people who certainly don't have any anger issues at all.

We had a vehicle that was too shiny for the neighborhood and a passenger in a truck that pulled up beside us was brandishing a lovely old revolver at us from behind a rolled up window. Wasn't even the first time that trip, but this time the window started to come down down so our driver stood on the brake and made a turn on a cross street to get us out of there.

No pics for obvious reasons, but shout out to the pickup with a plow blade less than a vehicle length away from a Corolla doing 60-65 MPH in the middle of a snowstorm. Yes the Corolla was in the far left lane unnecessarily, but the middle and right lanes were both clear to pass safely.

Capital: A city designated as a legislative seat by the government or some other authority, often the city in which the government is located; otherwise the most important city within a country or a subdivision of it.

Drove in similar conditions through Oklahoma to my grandfather's funeral.

Ahead of me a salt/plow truck just barely within my tiny bubble of visibility. Behind me a semi truck keeping me just barely within their bubble of visibility. Visibility was about...30-40 feet and there was no loving way the truck behind me could see the truck ahead of me.

One of the most terrifying moments of my life. If one of a dozen things had gone the slightest bit wrong my tiny little car would have been crushed between two different pieces of industrial equipment. And/or shot out into oncoming traffic on the other side of the 2-lane highway.
