That sword looks pretty crummy technically. You'd think a "conservative painter" would be painting swords all the drat time.

Joementum posted:Conservative painter Jon McNaughton has written a book! In it, the high school football star, Josh, who is totally not a stand in for the author has to battle the forces of darkness to win the state championship game. What I love/loathe is how the readers and writers of devil stories like this believe that there is a literal devil who is both on the verge at all times of tempting man to destroy itself and fall, and YET at the same time has nothing better to do with his time and energy than go gently caress with some podunk town's high school star quarterback. There are over six billion people in the world and rising. Even if you toss out all the non-Christian, and continue onto non-whatever-Evangelical-group-you-are, there are still millions of humans. Humans with a finite life-span. That means Satan has a limited time span to do his corruption lest his corrupted champions pass on before they can do any real evil. So the implications are either A) Satan doesn't experience time like us and can be millions places at once to do his work, which would make him way too powerful for a to realistically defeat or B) random podunk town high school quarterback really is that important. Since A raises too many implications it is B. It is always B. The people with these sort of fantasies are always SO IMPORTANT, they're always the only real people/people that matter in existence. The narcissism inherent in such a picture disgusts me and explains so much of the right wing screaming about "The only moral X is my X." and the entire belief of FYGM. They literally believe that they are the only ones that matter, that that everyone else is already doomed or virtual. When their so-called community of Better Than Everyone True Believers start becoming more and more marginalized all they can do is start screaming about the devil and conspiracies.

Speaking of conservative art, I saw this stuff at a local art festival in the Dallas area earlier today. Someone named Jamie Rice. I thought most of his stuff was pretty neat, but then I saw these hanging in the corner, and I couldn't help but laugh at it: Not sure why he put Albert Einstein in this one. I thought he was a socialist. And he put Jesus next to Reagan and Lincoln along with what looks like John Stossel below the snake vomit. This was the first one I noticed, and the image of Greg Gutfeld staring out at me made me laugh.

Roughly ~30 people represented in both those paintings and there's not a single woman or non-white person. Usually these sorts of artists at least try to maintain some illusion of diversity. I mean, third-string hacks like Gutfeld make the cut but not Sarah Palin or Michelle Malkin?

Quite a number of websites do just that. Especially medical sites.

Not really, it's still the Obamacare rollout stuff. He's basically complaining about how stupid people (ie LIEBERALS) piss him off and how he has no sympathy for anyone whose premiums went up. It's just the way it's being said that is great. Kind of like when Levin opens up his inner Master Shake

If right wing radio and their shambling hordes were this concerned about premiums going up a decade or so ago then maybe we wouldn't have needed Obamacare in the first place.
