The alien comics aren't indefensibly terrible or anything, but when getting several of them in a row they start feeling like a joke that's long overstayed its welcome. It's just one core joke that's being run into the ground a little too hard. Not that some of them aren't good anyway! "I wish to harm the melody machine" is a great line.

Maybe teaching this audience about cause and effect is not such a bad thing? It is probably good to approach the subject stepwise, not assuming any substantial prior knowledge.
