To the other guys that got them, didn't you get two in the package? I didnt do the steamy bathroom I just screenwiped the poo poo out of my switch and used my phone light to make sure there were no dust suckers left on there. The only good amiibo is a dead amiibo

so this is why the Switch is 300 dollars. The margins on this thing are pretty thin. don't expect a price cut anytime soon.

I really am hoping I didn't just kill my switch. Any things or button presses I can do to do like a hard restart or something? I had to move all my electronics to rearrange some things. I took the Switch Dock, AC adapter, and USB-C that goes from my Switch and usually connects to my pro controller for charging to another room. I plugged my USB-C that was coming off the Dock to quickly charge up my Switch (which was at 89%) An hour later, I can't get the screen to turn on at all. Totally dead. Did it just fully drain for some crazy reason? Did I kill it? What do I do here?!

I doubt it though... It's now docked and I let it sit for about 15 min. You'd think it would respond a little... nothing yet. [Edit] for my own info, should charging it through the USBC that came with my pro controller that is connected to the dock be considered bad? That would be news to me.

This is sort of a weird question, but does anyone know if the Japanese switch has language options for UI? I know the console is region free, so I should be able to buy us games for it but if it doesn't have English I'd rather pay a bit more.

Water heater leaked all over my finished basement, had to get a new one fast (kids need water) and then dehumidifiers everywhere. Thanks! <3

You can change the interface language under general settings regardless of whichever regional account(s) you're using. I was actually afraid of not being able to access the JP e-shop from Canada, so I ordered mine from Amazon Japan and had it shipped, but all I did was suffer two weeks of waiting after launch and selling off my Bestbuy.ca preorder to a very grateful local fella.

s.i.r.e. posted:Maybe every store got a super low number of adapters? From here, yes, but even they're out of adapters. I don't know if Nintendo super underestimated the effect of having the dock say "I refuse to work properly without Official Nintendo Chargers" and they're used to whatever demand for power solutions mitigated by people buying from cheaper third parties, or if they cannibalized their own adapter stock for boxed switches, or what. Mostly I bring it up out of actual curiosity if anyone ITT has seen/heard any underlying reason for this fairly head-scratching shortage.

That ouch was my initial reaction too, until I looked on amazon and realized most of the generic hdmi combo to usb C dongles come in at the same general price baseline. The fact that this is the first console I've had in awhile where I actually want to have some spare extras of the bits that come with the box really makes it obvious where the money is going, though.

Looks like Yooka-Laylee's getting sorta panned. That's a real shame, I liked everything about it so far... that is, that it's cute, a 3D platformer, and has a Shovel Knight cameo. My roommate was playing some ridiculously bad rap music on her phone the other day, and I was like wtf is this? It's the Yooka-Laylee theme song! Ugh it's so bad it's good. Maybe I'll get it anyway despite the reviews.

There's a cost to making a game that's a "spiritual successor" to a game from a much older school of game design, and the balancing act of "true to the old design" while scrapping the lovely aspects is a very fine line to walk. Most of the reviews I've seen have basically said "If you enjoyed the N64+Rare era games for their gameplay you'll like it, but there's a reason they aren't made like that anymore". I was going to buy it sight unseen for Steam but if it's going to hit the Switch I'm deffo waiting.

It looks like it depends on which reviewer you get for Yooka Laylee. If they like N64 Mascot era games it'll review well If not.. then yeah.

yeah it apparently doesn't perform great on the xbox one or ps4 so i don't have a lot of hopes for the switch version being decent. i'm a little bummed at the reception the game is getting because i was hoping for it to y'know, evoke banjo-kazooie while still feeling like a pretty modern experience, but apparently it sticks to the n64 blueprint to a fault (including the focus being more on collecting than platforming) and lacks a lot of polish when it comes to the camera and controls. i read more than one review that said the casino world was outright bad too, and that's a full 20% of the game.

Then it probably wasn't just coincidence I was getting BK Nuts & Bolts vibes from footage of the casino area. And what did N&B have a lot of? Empty travel space justified by the fact you're in a vehicle most of the time... except you don't have that this time around.
