I remember having to help clean up the mess that is Fountain jumpbridges a couple of times. It was decidedly not fun being the adult in that room. And then there's the minor detail of that idiot pissing away all their ISK on bullshit instead of building a sustainable income model for the alliance, but what can you expect... at least he didn't RMT it all (as far as I know  ).

Pretty sure his goal was to keep the lowest amount of isk on hand to avoid someone leaving with most of it. He (and others) had plenty of programs to help FA members, such as providing carrier skillbooks, wartime srp during peace time (which led to not having enough srp during wars). I can imagine that dealing with him might have been a pain fron the vantage point of someone who had to tell him what to do, but for the average grunt he was cool.

The recon one was the only hard one to stay with due to the time commitment during war. The rest didn't require me to actually play the game and I got to poo poo on directors all the time in Illuminati so I consider it a net win.

You didn't misread. PLEX replaced Aurum as the one true currency for the stupid poo poo of EVE (like SKINs and skill point extractors), which means rather than it being a single unit that used to cost $11-15 depending on the deals you could get, 1 PLEX is a few cents' worth now and you need 500 PLEX to buy one month of Omega time to be able to fly the neat ships.

They almost kicked the Old NC out of the North alongside IT and Atlas in MAX3 - would have worked too if Goonswarm hadn't just re-settled in TCF space in Deklein, and, well, we all know how it ended.
