There's a parts list in there too, but I can't vouch for how accurate it is since I haven't tried to build one from that list. However, I know at least a few other people have made their own copy, so it should cover most of the parts needed.

Lately I've been picking up the collectible minifigs whenever I had spare change. Got a tennis player and a djinn so far. I consider the whole thing a challenge to populate my modular house setup and make them fit in somehow, which is why the firemen now keep a table tennis sparring partner in the closet and the djinn sweeps the sidewalk in front of the greengrocer's. If I ever get the space marine or the aztec warrior or anything of the sort, I'm in trouble.

Actually I want about five bears so I can make a squadron of bear-mounted Dwarven warriors.

Do you know what I'm really suprised they haven't done with the Minifig series? Chase minifigs, like 1 in 10 of the rarest one is a zombie version with different coloured hands and head or even a whole different 17th figure.

Those fuckers are expensive enough without having to fondle up the right dude and then hope that it has the right leg color or something.

So far I've gotten Shelob Attacks, Gandalf Arrives, and Uruk-hai Army from the LotR series. Here is a mini-write up of my thoughts on them: Shelob Attacks: has the best giant spider Lego has come out with so far. It includes a built in string for webbing, and (as far as I am aware) is the only source for the Sam and Golem mini-figs. Decent overall, price is a bit high and Golem's outcropping just feels last minute. Gandalf arrives: Cute, don't know how I feel about the new horses. The Gandalf mini-fig is only found in this set, and the cart works well as a generic merchant cart too. Probably my favorite of the three. Do wish Frodo could hold the drat book while it was closed though. Uruk-hai Army: The Eomer mini-fig is too ornate for my tastes. Really does just feel like a tiny action figure now. Uruk-hai do look straight up evil, but the heads are painted on both sides, rather than doing 2 unique heads. Siege weapon has some cool potential, and I could see modifying it with some more pieces to something that looks...complete? There is just a lot of space in it right now. The castle wall is boring, but it does not have any large wall pieces, which was a nice surprise. Overall, the weakest of the 3 sets by far. Hope that wasn't too boring for you guys.

Went to Toys r Us to finally get that space marine. Got my figure, my older son got his bunny guy he liked, but my younger son was hoping for the black knight and after all the sorting I grabbed the wrong one and he ended up with a little red riding hood. He was a bit disappointed but took it in stride. Did get to see the LotR and Monster sets. That hearse is pretty badass.

Anyone else have The Mummy? The skeleton horse glows in the dark really well but it took a TON of squinting to even notice that the mummy glows at all. Feels kind of lame to see the horse glow so well then have the mummy itself pretty much not glow. Is this just mine or are other people having the same thing? Feels like there's not much point in having something glow in the dark if it's not really visible.

Chase minifigs, like 1 in 10 of the rarest one is a zombie version with different coloured hands and head or even a whole different 17th figure. So if Lego were to introduce chase figures they would need to be seen as not just taking advantage of the consumer, as that could kill their whole CMF empire. So, ideas. I like your zombie variant idea, but not the 17th figure. That would just send bag fondlers into hyperdrive. The chase figs would have to be unfeelable. How about : 1 in 7 - Palette swap, elements and prints in non standard colours (they would need to be exclusive to the chase cmf set) 1 in 15 - Totally clear figure, maybe even with glitter in them. Not sure if lego can do clear figs though. 1 in 30 - Chrome silver version of fig. Or matt if it's too expensive. 1 in 50 - Chrome gold fig. 1 in 100 - All elements are made in different colours of glow in the dark plastic (bad rear end). Lego can obviously set the distributions at whatever they want, depending on roughly where they want secondary market prices. I would buy more packs for sure. Currently cmf's are $5 each here and it just feels like throwing money away each time I buy one. Most series will only have a single figure that sells for more than that, so it's much more sensible to just get them on bricklink. But this would drive people to buy cases!

I don't like the idea of my local TRU getting its entire stock wiped out by one devoted collector but I do like the idea of multicolour glow in the dark or chrome minifigs.

I always assumed that they used regular backgrounds with a few brick elements to keep the polygon count down. They could use a stud texture but it would probably look tacky and close up (flat studs).

I think chase minifigs are a terrible idea and would lead to a massive bubble in the entire minifig economy. It would also make them impossible to find in stores and mean that pretty much the only way to get collectable minifigs would be ordering from shop.lego.com and having to pay shipping and not get to try to feel for the ones you want, or having to buy them from speculators on bricklink for an insane markup.
