wish i could remember the exact details but i distinctly remember seeing a clip at one point of a state legislator raving about abortion when the chamber was putting forward some ceremonial bill commemorating a state bird or book day or something on behalf of a class of primary school kids there for the session, that was pretty lol. not for the kids obviously.

I think one of the oddest things about the Moore thing is that politicians having allegations of wrong-doing thrown at them (true or not) is nothing new, but they generally they only address the claims directly in the most stage-managed call-a-press-conference-and-read-prepared-remarks way, and generally let spokesman / media people / surrogates do any of the actual defence/blame-deflecting - the defence basically happens in the third-person. Moore is doing this the old-fashioned way - making himself the centre of it, talking about how THEY are attacking ME so YOU should give ME money to fight THEM, directly calling people who accuse him liars etc. Any case, it's working for him. Almost as though the people who respond to this are the same ones that respond to Trump being Trump... Serak fucked around with this message at 06:55 on Dec 6, 2017 |

I mean, it does, but I think you'll find that mine owners actually don't want it - If it wasn't for Obama and his greenie cohorts who FORCED them to fire all the workers, they'd happily replace this super efficient machine it with hundreds of well-paid AMERICAN workers with pick-axes, and Trump? Well he's gonna make that happen!

He's playing the same strategy as Trump used to get elected....Sadly, I think Moore's going to win. Are the Dems even bothering to throw any support behind their candidate at this point? I'd almost call for a boycott, but what EXACTLY is Alabama known for, outside of judges trolling malls and high schools for prospective dates, apparently?

I've read that back in the hayday of coal if was a common life strategy to join up with the mines at 18 and retire at 45 because of black lung. They would then go on SS disability to continue to support themselves and their families for the duration. This of course means that the most all American job, shinning example of capitalism and pride of the working man: coal miner, has always been heavily subsidized by the US tax payer.
