jony ive aces posted:and they were going to go even further with reimplementing windows 95 features in 8.1 or 8.2 for free but then were like "fuckit we'll just put these in windows 9 so people actually have a reason to buy it" This is why the took the start menu out of 8 so people would beg for it to be added back in 9 and then when they brought it back they would stick in some advertisements and people wouldn't care because they are so glad to have their start menu back instead of having an apps page like in 8.
