My boss in the mid 2000's was former Rhodesian Light Infantry, had a bunch of tattoos on his forearms.

I guess he had to flee the country, something something wanted for war crimes

When I was in rehab there was this alcoholic guy that was also in the Rhodesian Light Infantry. Dude loved to talk about how they used to strap POW's to the front of their Jeeps and drive around the bush until they had almost no skin left from all the thorns 'n poo poo. That motherfucker was thoroughly messed up. When this other guy that shared a room with him put a fake snake in his bed he flipped out and nearly killed the guy.

Found this on the wiki for the 1st Rhodesian Light Infantry which is quite funny.

quote:

The Commando's "Lovers" wanted to use an erection as their symbol, as they had not yet seen action on Operation Cauldron. Captain Spike Powell and Lieutenant Chris Pearce suggested that a more suitable emblem, other than anything military, might be a banana. The banana was adopted, and the Commando's insignia became a numeral "3", emblazoned on a banana, with the word "Lovers" above and the designation "Commando" beneath, all on a green shield. This emblem endured for the rest of the RLI's history.

You guys that are so horrified by the death of the priest: how many deaths do you think he caused by exploiting the villagers' faith? I'm not saying that eye-for-an-eye is justifiable or right, and I also don't think it's fair to assume that was the reason he was killed. Be aware that if you are defending this man, you are defending someone that is directly responsible for unnecessary poverty, illness and death in much greater amounts than what befell him and his family. If the village thought that they needed to oust this leech with violence, so be it. If FSAD's story is accurate, then I don't think he deserves any tears.

Morocco. South Africa. Equatorial Guinea. Zimbabwe. Madagascar.

That was off the top of my head let's see how I did!

Edit: Morocco I'm right. South Africa I'm right. Equatorial Guinea I'm right (the current president came to power in a coup in 1979). Zimbabwe also (because Mugabe has ruled it) and Madagascar is iffy.

Wait I'm wrong. Madagascar had a coup in 2009.
