Hooray, this is back! With...the sewer level. Oh well, can't win 'em all. I'm curious what that first room would look like with a CRT filter; it's using dithering-based transparency, which looks utter rubbish on a pixelated display but can actually work on blurrier ones like CRTs. As for the Devil, the big problem I've always had with Devil bosses is that they tend to have very brief periods of vulnerability in between excessively long periods of dodging. And the first time you fight them, you don't know what their weakness is, so it can take you several cycles of hitting them with one weapon at a time before you can figure out what to use against them. It looks like Sewer Devil opens his eye pretty regularly, though, and leaves it open for more than half a second at a time. Plus the dodging doesn't seem quite so rigorous (instead you have to deal with possibly not having a floor to stand on).

I'd say the bubble mini boss is probably one of my least favorite parts of the game. It's novel the first time through but on repeat attempts it is pretty tedious. The rest of the stage makes up for it though by having a ton of really well-designed platforming challenges and ending with an awesome boss battle.

The jump you find a "pain" during the split isn't actually a jump at all- edge off of the platform instead of jumping and you'll rapidly be in the normal, full control movestate. For the E-Tank in the other part of the split, you're supposed to hit the cracked pipe behind you and use the additional speed of the water to get the item without getting hit.

e: f;b Far as the boss goes, it's really fun to try to beat it just using the melee option of Spark Manbow. Always did like it's death animation being what shoves you to the next stage. Hooray, this is back! It feels deeply, deeply wrong that there could be a weapon better than "unlimited explosive Metal Blade". Also, you should consider trying to avoid starting sentences with "Also" Otherwise commentary was great.

This is easily the most interesting stage to me in the whole game. I love being able to use the Mega-Killers weapons so well. Also, I'm assuming it's actually 4 different shield generators, not just the one being blown up several times.

Each generator has a different colored circle on it, and after you destroy any of the generators the flashes of that color cease. By the time you get up to where you can see the flashes you have to have already destroyed one of the generators, so the timing of the flashes coincides with one generator already being destroyed.

The biggest disappointment with the killer rematches is that not one of them can stop Rush Cannon. Bringing back some tough but fun bosses and letting you just not fight fair with them if you don't want to is very contradictory to the tough but fair design (most) of the rest of the game has. Also a missed opportunity to make them have hilarious counters to Rush Cannon like the robut masters themselves all have. There will be another example of letting you not fight fair by design soon enough. That one is a much better example of how to let a player not fight fair but it's entirely deserved.

Definitely interesting, replacing the megabuster for a level. I assume it goes back to normal in the Wily stages? It's a pity Dr. Cossack himself isn't more challenging when you use that laser weapon. Man that thing is overpowered! Seems to me that it takes all the fun out of it.

I still really enjoy Wily 1. I think he wanted an excuse to let players play with the Joe vehicles in the classic series so he made the first part of the level filled with them and the second half letting you turn their weapons against them. The first half of the stage is entirely the lash, but the carrot in the second half makes up for it. The only thing I don't like is again, it's possible to not fight fair with the boss even if you don't use the vehicles. If you hit it a few times with recycle inhaler or once with Rush Cannon his shield is destroyed making him a non-issue.

Sorry that this came later than expected, the audio bug affected that specific recording and only that specific recording, for some bizzare reason. There's some double audio at the beginning, but it's not too bad and the rest of the stage now has audio! Hooray! I've also added a few things to the fight with Joe Ni Nin Va All.

I can't say I like the presentation of the LP (it feels over-rehearsed and the constant drawing attention to puns is more annoying than the puns themselves ), but it's not bad either and it's nice to see a playthrough that showcases how useful the weapons are, since the only other ones I've seen are Dectilon+Phiggle's playthrough and Violen's minimalistic run. The OP is also very thorough, so kudos to the work you've done!

I'm usually not a big fan of VLPs because a lot of people just have really grating voices and/or don't know how to speak confidently, but I staved off sleepiness to burn through this whole series last night. Snatchman will only steal the eight robut master weapons, he doesn't react at all to wire, balloon or Rush Search/Wish Star. He does react to Rush Cannon once he's taken four of your weapons, but not prior to that.
