Everything is perfectly fine because now we have enough channels that we never need to listen to others' free speech anyway. It's all this rampant commercialism-funded thinktank journalism thats gotten the public's discourse so diluted, not our own personal freedoms. Let's amend to deny corporations personhood / free speech already.

The neat thing though, unless we have a communist revolution over night, odds are that a ban on free speech is mainly going to be used to silence liberals and progressives. That power is going straight to the conservative religious right and those with economic power. Irl is sadly not an internet forum or a tumblr blog, real people with real power don't really care about lgbt rights and correct pronoun use. It's just going to get even harder to talk about economic inequality than it is today. i dont want to read a bunch of legal documents on the US constitution, but isn't free speech not entirely protected anyways? like you can't just go around saying whatever you want. you can't threaten the life of the president, you can't make oral contracts and then back out, and i'm pretty sure you can't promote outright racism against an entire group or attempt to incite a riot. so what exactly does free speech cover? political ideologies?

don't know why americans care so much about the first amendment. it always seems to me that they roll over whenever the president is in town or when the cops are fed up with an anti-war/police/corporation protest. we don't have the first amendment here, yet you can walk up to the prime minister and call him a dickhead. checkmate amerifailures.
