If I had to choose between the two, I'd probably go with Donald. Donald is the only reason to go back and watch any Disney shorts. Mickey is boring as poo poo, Goofy is annoying as hell, but Donald always gets really loving worked up.

Donald because he's angry as poo poo and because the one short where him and his nephews build ice forts and shoot fireballs at each other was my favorite as a kid. I also thought it was rad how you had to immediately adjust Donald's AI in Kingdom Hearts or else he would instantly rage out the second mobs appeared and waste all his magic raining down hellfire on everyone.

I've been watching old cartoons recently. I liked Looney Toons more as a kid but they don't hold up nearly as well as disney. They have a pretty limited range of gags that end up repeating a lot, whereas disney has ridiculous amounts of inventive slapstick and really crazy animation, with Donald having most of the best of it.
