Am I totally wrong in remembering Jason as kind of being the good guy in Freddy Vs Jason? He was at least more of a chaotic neutral than a hardcore evil dude like Freddy was

Also, Part 6 is great and hilariously tongue-in-cheek. It even has the Bond opening for crying out loud!

Also 2 on the occasion because it's hilarious how unaware they were of the gayness. Yes, they were blissfully unaware according to the director of 2 in Never Sleep Again, which I highly recommend. It's about 4 hours long but it's great. The Jason movies are more campy and it seems like they are more aware of it so they all are fun in their own ways.

80's slasher films were designed to prey upon teenagers' fears of getting caught having sex because most of the teenagers in these films are murdered while having sex. Every series ends up running out of ideas of how to show people dying mid/post coitus and ends up sliding into gore porn. Like Jason Goes to Hell it's unironically good if you take it on its own merits and not as a serious continuation of the franchise. They wanted to make a stupid-as-gently caress B movie about Jason in space and they succeeded by not overshooting and focusing on making the idiocy fun to watch.

My friends and I went to go see Jason Goes to Hell in the theater for my birthday (we were all ~12-13 and my mom bought us the tickets and let us watch it alone!) and it was maybe the biggest disappointment in our young lives. It was all of our first R rated movie by ourselves in the theater and we didn't even get to see Jason killing people until the last 10 minutes.

There's really no point in making any more Jason films because Jason X confirms that 1) Jason is still alive(?) in the far future, but 2) teenagers still exist and continue to gently caress, so he failed in his quest.

In the spirit of this thread I bought that Ft13 game I had heard about. It’s fun for a few playthroughs but is worth probably half of what I paid... It was cool to be that fat guy with the fro from the third movie though.
