this sort of poo poo really makes my philosophical sense tingle like these algorithms are really starting to perceive stuff in advanced ways, and i'm starting to wonder how much different they are from stuff like insects in that way right now im even starting to think that these codes might actually be more 'aware' than literal ants and whatnot |

it's not even the skynet aspect that i worry about, we'll be able to get around that kind of nonsense it's more that at some point all these complicated algorithms are replicating real living beings' abilities to sense, or even surpassing them in some ways. to put it in another way, maybe some kid writing "58008" on a calculator is basically the same as one burning ants with a magnifying glass |
