Some ITK on RAWK said they're as close as you're going to get to the actual thing, unfortunately. I don't see how it's any different than the Premier League having a lion on it's league patch or on league numbering. The scudetto patch is pretty much a small Italian flag. I imagine a lot of leagues have national signifiers on their patches/badges. Seems pretty normal.
