Pop / rock song with a distinct, almost zydeco accordion bit in it, maybe from the 80s. Very ubiquitous popular song, I feel like it's been on several comedy movie soundtracks. I've looked up all sorts of lists of pop songs with accordions in it, and I can't find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Something like this? Try searching for songs with a melodica. There were a ton of them in the 80s. https://youtu.be/zB1Q-PfUvN0

Good guesses, but none are it. I was able to play what I remember the accordion (maybe melodica) melody as on the guitar, here it is, hope it helps: http://codyclarke.com/mystery.mp3 It might not be the exact key—it may be a whole step up or down from how I remember.

A 80's thrash/punk song about doughnuts, the line I remember is "Fresh doughnuts in the window, steam rising from the dough, fresh doughnuts in the tray, if I don't get some blood will flow". It might be by The Stupids but google turns up nothing.

I heard a song that sort of sounds like Stevie Wonder, or at least rather similar in musical style. The only thing I really recall is that the chorus has a part that 'subdivides' the beat (not sure if this has a technical term, but I mean a section where the same note is repeated a half/third/fourth as long as might be 'expected') so there are a lot of short syllables coming quickly. Musically I think it's mostly descending tones for that section. Sorry I can't give more but I've heard it a few times recently and that pattern kind of stuck in my head. e: It's not 'Sir Duke', though the bit just before the chorus is a bit like what I'm talking about. Not any of those. I realized that the Stevie Wonder song that it most reminded me of is "As", when the background singers come in with "until the rainbow burns the stars out of the sky" etc., which is similar in structure in that the words in the chorus seem to be moving more quickly. The song I heard was a bit more mellow, but kind of similar in feel (not too funky, not too soulful), and I'm fairly sure it was at least three or four notes subdivided, generally descending instead of ascending as "As" has it. Trying to do music matches from that gives me PJ Morton's 'One' which is close as well, but I recall the beat being more evenly split up. He seems like a possibility. Anyone know other songs of his it might be? Kangra fucked around with this message at 03:13 on Sep 26, 2022 |

More like "Find" than identify. It's a live performance of "Play it all night long" by Warren Zevon, but it's just him on the piano. Very low quality video but the sound is good. It used to be on YouTube but now I can't find it edit, at the beginning of the one I'm looking for it sounds like someone in the audience shouts "gently caress em up warren" just before the song starts. yaffle fucked around with this message at 14:29 on Sep 27, 2022 |

I doubt there are many studio quality live recordings from before Ten dropped. And even so, what song would it be. It ain't from Vedder's pre PJ band Bad Radio, according to the demos. It def ain't STP, I know them real well. I put the Reddit grunge heads on the case for this and nobody knows what it is.

"The Hot Dog Man", a parody of the Candy Man song from the movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I heard it occasionally on a radio morning show in Salt Lake City in the early to mid 90s. I remember it pretty clearly but Google turns up nothing. I'm hoping there's a repository of goofy parody songs of the type, and that this song existed outside of just this one radio station.

I happened to have some random home renovation show on in the background, when during a cut scene, they played a bit of this sort of new wave / punk song (had a bit of a Squeeze essence to it) - though I don't think it was actually from that era. All I could catch was: I feel like we're going backwards again (ooh backwards again) It's not the Tame Impala song. I listen to a lot of music and was surprised I couldn't place it all.

Many years ago, probably around a decade or more, I recorded a mash-up from a recording of an online only radio station, I have no idea what it's called, the DJ portion wasn't in the original recording, and I really want to find a less garbage audio quality version of it. It's about 6 minutes long and starts with a proper sounding man saying "Ladies and Gentlemen, it's time for the 7th inning stretch". The main bones of the song is Beverly Hills by Weezer, it comes back to the lyrics for it multiple times and it's main guitar rhythm plays almost the entire song. Also showing up frequently is The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme which it also comes back to multiple times for the verses. The chorus uses Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus. One of the verses is a cover of The Joker by Steve Miller Band but I don't recognize who's singing it. Another verse is Angel by Shaggy and towards the ending quarter of the song, the main keyboard riff from Van Halens Jump starts kicking in. There's some other stuff in the backing tracks I don't recognize but I am sure they are from other songs. I've been listening and loving this mash-up for years and would love to find out what it is as Google isn't very helpful in that process. Thank you
