Note the Murder 1 charge is not for the first guy he shot, but for the second, who the autopsy determined was killed by the round that was fired into his back as he ran.

Wisconsin apparently abolished the death penaltiy in the 1850s so this kid's gonna spend years 18 through probably 70-something in the big house.

I expect to hear about him rising up through the ranks of the AB in a couple years, assuming civilization lasts that long.

Appropros of nothing, a ton of people I know are building ARs right now, and I got to thinking, hey, maybe it's a bad thing that you can buy a semi-automatic rifle that was designed for the express purpose of killing human beings, with zero traceability, no serial numbers, no background check, all because you have to spend a couple hours with a router finishing the machining.

I say this as a gun owner, who is qualified as an expert with the M16 and M4 rifles with the military, and qualified to issue both weapons.

80% lowers for AR-15s require some tooling and skill, but the new 3D printed AR-15 lowers actually work really well. I've also noticed a definite uptick in 80% Glocks (P80s) recovered by the police recently. I honestly don't think it makes a huge difference in terms of criminal gun usage, if anything I think it lowers the incentive to break into houses to steal guns. I know guys that have stolen guns from cop cars because the opportunity presented itself, where there's a will there's a way.

*edit*
to clarify since I forgot this was AI not TFR, P80 Glocks are the basic frame of a Glock handgun, but under current ATF rulings they don't count as a gun. So you can order one online, then spend a little bit of time with a drill press, dremel, or even sand paper to finish it out to accept the rest of the parts that make a complete "gun." In the US things like barrels and slides don't count as a firearm, so you can order them online with no background checks. This makes it fairly easy to make a "ghost gun," although in California this would now be illegal if you don't get it approved by the CA DOJ and obtain a serial number for it.

As long as neonazis are armed up and willing to just murder people at civil rights demonstrations and police are willing to assist them there is no reason the American people who are left of the Klan shouldn't be armed up. For those who aren't capable or willing to operate a firearm, you should seriously consider going to stop the bleed classes and stocking up on supplies for field triage. Dozens of people are being gravely injured at protests every night and it's been growing constantly. What happened in Wisconsin is going to keep happening and with more regularity now that someone finally lit that match.

Yeah, CA, NY and CT at least have laws against a lot of this stuff.

It may not currently effect the illegal arms market, because firearms are so prevalent in th US, but it does make enacting gun control laws more difficult, which is bad.

Everyone in DC is complicit in this, as a lot of gun control legislation is nonsensical.

Here's Kyle, the well-regulated 17 year old militia man from out of state defending the Kenosha TJ Maxx and lighting up the first guy he murdered that night for throwing a plastic bag at him, shortly before he 'self defended' himself from the second group of bystanders (all huge criminal record havers and probable democrats, natch) attempting to detain the active shooter terrorist which resulted in Kyle killing another and seriously maiming another right before the cops let him go home for the night.

If you don't like seeing people get shot, move to another country or don't watch this, I dunno. It's really difficult to avoid it here.

The 'ghost gun' bit is way overdramatized anyway. This isn't CSI, then cops aren't going to track down a murder weapon from the manufacturing end to try to catch a killer at large in 30 minutes or less. Serialization exists to more easily catch arms trafficking.

I'm amused that there's a whole cottage industry around making illegal CA guns with no serial number via the knockoff Lego method when you can just drive to Arizona or Idaho or Texas or some other shithole country and buy the one you really want from a gunshow using cash without all this shenaniganry.

Earlier in the year when people were buying up guns there were a lot of people from MA coming up to NH trying to buy and getting pissed when told they couldn’t since they didn’t live in the state. Of course this won’t count for gun shows etc... but people walking into a big box store trying to buy a hand gun to be told nope and then kicking off was amusing. I ended up getting a shotgun since it is simple and primarily to make loud noises to scare off coyotes if they get too close to the house.

Except the part where you can't actually do so.

The 'gun show loophole' doesn't actually exist. FFLs dealing at gun shows still have to perform the required form 4473 background check, and it's still federally illegal to knowingly transfer a handgun to someone across state lines unless the receiver is an FFL. For long guns, it's allowed to sell in-person to someone from out of state so long as the gun would be legal in the buyer's state of residence. So going across state lines to buy a non-Cali compliant rifle is a good old federal crime.

However, the sale may be made if the firearm is shipped to a licensee whose business is in the purchaser’s State of residence and the purchaser takes delivery of the firearm from the licensee in his or her State of residence. In addition, a licensee may sell a rifle or shotgun to a person who is not a resident of the State where the licensee’s business premises is located in an over–the–counter transaction, provided the transaction complies with State law in the State where the licensee is located and in the State where the purchaser resides.

Don't pretend there aren't non FFLs (and shady FFLs) selling guns at gun shows without background checks. The gun show loophole doesn't really exist but it's because that type of private sale happens all the time so its not a loophole it's a feature, gun shows probably just make it a little easier.

Yeah I actually knew about the move, just wrote YLLS out of habit.

The handling is pretty good. It turns very nicely. It’s a bit squirrelly, I can usually ride most bikes with no hands for quite some distance as long as there’s some speed - this one not at all.

It’s weird when turning, the front moves rather far away from you.

Finally, the handling depends a bit on the load. 15 kilos of kid plus groceries makes it a bit of a challenge at low speeds. It really shines once it’s above 20kph or so.

I'm not defending him, but from a practical matter you have no way of knowing if someone is just going to beat you up versus keep on kicking you in the head when you're down. Additionally, someone taking one punch to the head, falling, then hitting their head and dying happens alarmingly more often than you'd expect. That's why getting into any kind of fight as an adult is stupid, you could have no intention of harming someone yet still end up doing serious time because their head was made of eggshell. This whole situation is also why it's really dumb to bring a rifle to a protest, looking for a fight.

In other news, the new forums code that auto completes the URL tag for you is really annoying if you're used to manually typing it out so you can link your own words/phrase rather than just the default link text.
