The Nolan movies in general are really poo poo and have aged very badly outside of some handsome set design and of course Heath Ledger. It was very novel back when the major competing standards were Sam "the ham" Raimi, Bryan "monstrous pedophile" Singer, and anyone willing to work for two pennies and a song over at 20th Century Fox, but man did the times leave that one behind. You can tell Bale is so checked out in those movies after the first one. And it's not even hate for superhero garbage-- he's literally headlining a movie where he plays a Space Viking's nemesis and he's really putting in the work.
