Well, no support, no newest 9.x. The certs are generated by Broadcom from the portal and tied to the hardware serial.

That makes sense - we did buy a SanNav license from Dell and it worked in much the same way.

I've been using VMD without understanding it deeply. Is vmd basically.....on-die HBA, but for NVMe?

I don't understand why I can't harass people online. Seriously, somebody please explain why I shouldn't be allowed to stalk others on social media!
When I make a windows 11 VM on my Mac via VMware fusion it gives me the option of "uefi" that iirc must be selected, and an optional "uefi secure boot" that isn't selected by default. Do I want to select this optional feature?

Another quick question, I allocated 2 cores to the VM but when I booted into windows 11 (home) I saw it only recognized 1 processor. I did some quick googling that suggested I needed to install the pro version. So I did that, and now it sees 2 processors. Why doesn't Windows 11 home allow multiple cpu cores? Who's buying single core cpus these days? Pretty sure those don't even exist. So I'm probably misunderstanding something.

Are you picking sockets or cores?

The dropdown just has options for "1/2/3/n processor cores", no language about sockets.

You’re not doing anything wrong, it’s VMware who hosed up by implementing multicore virtualization as multiple processors.

UEFI secure boot is only required if you want to use advanced security features like VBS (Core/memory integrity, credential guard and remote credential guard). More info: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/design/device-experiences/oem-secure-boot
