Yea the first half of Q4 is needlessly slow, all that trench warfare stuff could have been done in five minutes then straight to the bang-bang. I did actually enjoy walking around the airship talking to other people, but I know I might be a minority on that. Heck, I feel even the vehicle segments get a bad rap - they're over very quick, unlike say the boat in HL2. I probably give Q4 more leeway than it deserved, mostly since I went back to play it during that total dearth of traditional fps games (sometime in the mid 2010's?). After poo poo like borderlands, Rage and Q4 where a relief.

Am I the only one having trouble with Dark Forces Remastered’s controls on the Xbox Series X? I can’t seem to dial in my aiming and movement I. A satisfactory way, even when I dial down the sensitivity it feels like my aiming and shooting is all over the place every time I get in a firefight and I burn through ammo like crazy.

Not sure about the movement, but if you're talking about the stormtrooper rifle it's by design. They basically built their notoriously terrible aim into the weapon. The pistol is noticeably more accurate. The rifle is meant to be more of a "spray and pray". But you do get a lot of ammo for it.

I found it was even the case with the pistol, but the stormtrooper rifle is drat near useless for me.

PO'ed Remastered is now out on every platform known to man, should buying a 3DO game in 2024 be on your bucket list. It's twenty earth dollars, or intergalactic equivalent. https://x.com/NightdiveStudio/status/1791077639467487243 MULLET MADJACK came out today-ish, too. Sort of like Post Void, but as an 80s Anime OVA homage and a bit less epilepsy-inducing. I looooved the demo and it seems to be getting some good reviews. Looking forward to digging into it! And Selaco is still on the horizon... good couple of weeks for our little sub-sub-subgenre.

I don't know why but I didn't expect Mullet Mad Jack to have an actual story. I'm excited to see where it goes. It's apparently a short game but that's offset by my ancient bones only being able to keep up the required intensity for half an hour maximum.

Any reviews on PO'ed yet? I love the original so much but I'm always a little worried when remasters release.

The Dark Forces stormtrooper rifle works best at medium to short range, and try not to fire it full auto for more than a moment. The pistol is for sniping

Controls are much better than grappling with a 3DO pad and there's some smart little tweaks, but by and large it's still PO'ed in all of it's... glory? Hell yeah, thanks! I'll probably buy it tomorrow then! Hopefully we'll get Disruptor and Tenka one of these days now.

I don't know why but I'm a bit surprised to see that Mad Mullet Jack currently has 98% positive reviews on Steam (out of ~600 reviews); I had it on my wishlist and was possibly going to pick it up in the Summer sale, but that compelled me to grab it now and give it a shot this weekend.

6v6 and 4 lanes does not sound like Battleborne and there is no mention of PvE content. Ill still probably play it if it scratches the Battleborne itch

Anybody else who's tried mullet madjack have moments where the fps just tanks and the game starts having huge jutter? E: it is as far as I could tell some kind of weird bug where the game speed is tied to frame rate, and using an external frame limit was causing the game to completely seize up. Disabling the frame limit seems to have fixed it. Anyways, was a pretty fun, if short, game site fucked around with this message at 03:58 on May 18, 2024 |
