Froome pretty close to isolated too. Landa not falling back. Haha. Quintana now dropped. Been a rough two weeks for him.

If I recall correctly Landa outright said that he's stronger than Froome and could have won that stage where Froome lost yellow, so with just a bit of luck he'll say in an interview what he was thinking in that moment

Doesn't seem like that big of a deal honestly. Would have been an issue if he attacked with Bardet as Froome caught on or something like that.

What would Landa even do career wise if he would start riding the Tour for himself? There was a rumor about Movistar but being Nairo's super domestique is a step down from being Froome's. I really hope he gets to be a captain on a grand tour but I don't see what team would currently have him.

^^ yeah or just go somewhere else where he is clear #1 He could still go to Movistar and have full support for a grand tour without riding for Quintana.

I'm still reading Landa's current behaviour as rebellious, btw. I mean, yeah, he is chasing down all attacks, but he's doing so in a way that leaves Froome in danger of getting gapped and having to do a lot of work on his own

Landa is Spanish, super marketable and could be dropping everyone here having done the Giro-Tour double that's killing Quintana. Movistar will sign him and make him lead for whatever he wants.

How much longer do you think Valverde is going to get that shot though? He's well into his thirties and coming back from a brutal injury.
