I hadn't noticed Hatsukoi Zombie had a bunch of new chapters until now, and had only read one of the recent ones, but now I'm caught up. It's certainly gone in a really interesting direction, with Tarou falling in love with Eve herself, AND knowing Ibusuki is a girl, and Ibusuki wanting Tarou to have a normal love life and not be shackled to an incorporeal figure like Eve. So she wants to "complete" the first love with him to make Eve transcend and disappear so he can find a real world love and not an intangible one, and then she will leave forever since she feels he will hate her forever for "killing" Eve. His father seems to know what they are as well. When I first started reading it I gave it a chance due to the strange premise and that it might go somewhere interesting similar to The World God Only Knows, but I don't think I really expected it to go in this direction, for sure. At the rate things are going, it's going to turn into a tragedy. It'll be interesting to see if it barrels headlong into that or if it pulls something strange to try and make a "happy end". Regardless the whole thing totally smacks of taking on the idea of people falling in love with 2D/waifus and their perfect, ideal imagined versions of the women they fell in love with who would love them no matter what, and the latest chapters absolutely reinforce that.
