Pretty good chance the entire letter is fabricated so the poster, and all the reposters, can get a bunch of fake internet points. All the poo poo about finances and potential fraud is something the company could very well care about but it seems excessively accusatory to have in the letter. To me it seems like the whole letter was written specifically to drum up outrage. I would expect a HR letter to be something like 'as discussed on <date>, this is your written warning that the car you have been parking in the employee parking lot violates employee code #.#-# "something about keeping up appearances" and you're required to address this by <x date>.'

Or maybe I'm just used to working for large companies that have extensive written policies and procedures and any sort of written warning is via some sort of form letter.

In my company this would be considered “coaching”. Its coach, coach, then discipline which varies depending on whether the person is union and hourly, just hourly or salaried.

Just dropped $200 (with tax and shipping) on eBay for factory JDM HIDs for my car. :shepicide: The factory USDM headlamps are pretty crappy, even after polish + clear. Osram Nightbreakers for the low beams and Philips/Wagner HIR1s for the high beams helped a lot, but that basically put it on par with the yellowed lights on Negative Ions. The low beams are "okay" with the Nightbreakers, the high beams just light up the road immediately in front of the car instead of going for the distance. The bulbs it came with.. one low beam was a Hella H1, the other was a Sylvania H1 (p side). Both sides had Sylvania 9005s for the high beams (likely original). I know the passenger side housing has been replaced with a junkyard piece.

Some forums checking says I should probably disassemble them and paint a small portion of the reflector matte black to give them a flat cutoff (to prevent blinding oncoming traffic). They also have electronic leveling that I don't have wiring for, so I'll need to figure out how to adjust them. I also know I'll have to disable the factory DRLs, since they run the low beams at reduced power (I'll probably add a third party DRL module to run the turn signals as DRLs, much like what the Saturn did). They use a $30 bulb that I can find on Amazon easily enough (D2R), I'll just keep a spare or two in the glove box.

I didn't plan to throw anything at upgrades on this car aside from the stereo and upgraded headlight bulbs, since it's a $1600 beater. Testing the ABS on a winding road when I came up on some deer hanging out in the road changed my mind on that; I would have seen them 1-2 seconds sooner with decent lighting.

My big boss is good in some ways and completely terrible in everything outside of cars (including selling his Torana over that Cobra). I have probably posted about that stuff over the years.

I am not going through it quickly at all. Sometimes I give a jar or two away but for the most part I just have a collection. Filtering it definitely helps.
If you plan on keeping it unopened for a long time, you might as well can it properly. So get yourself a water bath and new lids and jar it as you would any sort of preserves. I've got half a dozen jars in deep storage that I haven't touched in at least 2 years. I mostly have 2 open jars at a time; one for filling and one for using. I don't fill the one I'm currently using. I fill it till it's full and when I have enough to be worth it, I sanitize fresh jars, boil the jars that have the bacon grease so it's liquid, pour it into the sanitary jars and let them sit in the water bath with new lids lightly screwed on. Then I pull them all and tighten the lids and stick them in the fridge till I need them.

The little mermaid was the villain the whole time man. Ursula was just an external party in the matter but was holding up her end of the agreement. She didn't force Ariel to sign the contract. Ariel was a brat, constantly disobeying her father, nearly getting her best friend murdered by a shark for tchotchkes. She was obsessed with the possession of "things" that she had no use for and was completely delusional about how life worked because she was still essentially a child. Go listen to the lyrics of "part of your world" or whatever it is called. She has 20 thingamambobs but who cares, it is no big deal because she wants more. She thinks that on land people don't "Reprimand their daughters" for doing things that nearly get your best friends eaten by sharks.

Like what more could this kid want? Her dad is like the God of the entire Ocean. Not like any of her siblings are throwing fits about things. The thing that covers 2/3 of the planet. As far as I can tell when her dad had her married off it was to be rid of her poo poo. He had her put in an institution in a "no longer my problem" solution.

I have watched way too many Disney princess shows on repeat in raising my daughter so I have a pretty definitive list of best to worst princesses and opinions for why and Ariel is by far the worst of them all.

Krakkles
May 5, 2003

I mean, you'll find no disagreement from me that Ariel sucks. That doesn't define Ursula, though - Ursula did steal (sorry, repossess) people's souls and turn into a giant monster and try to kill everybody.

The enemy of my enemy can also be a villain.

I am afraid it wouldn't be to your standards, I see your food posts. I have perfected a very mild but tasty chili that ALL KIDS seem to enjoy, and even my mom who thinks mild salsa is spicy. But yet I enjoy the taste too. Like, I had kids over Halloween and some of my friends kids are little weirdos who will like only eat cereal or french fries or whatever and they went through multiple bowls of chili.

Main thing to bulk it up and not add much cost, giant can of crushed or diced tomatos, 2 cans of chili beans (cheaper the better), of course ground beef, and my custom mild chili mix. DO NOT DRAIN any of the tomatos or beans, and I do not add water. other than that I add Masa flour. Nothing special but just a crowd pleaser. I add corn chips and cheese on the side and sometimes black olives. Also I add hot sauce to mine.

Ursula was just getting what she was owed I guess. Maybe she was a bit of a loan shark/predatory payday lender. Perhaps there is a systemic problem in merpeople land much akin to our own society that was never fully fleshed out in the plot?

We can all agree though that Belle is the best Disney Princess by a country mile.

AFAIK there aren't any DOT or state vehicle regulations mandating levelers for HID so you shouldn't run afoul of any laws.

Also I wouldn't feel too bad about $200 for the pair - I paid over $500 (in 2004 dollars) for a set of OEM bi-xenon projector headlights for my MkI Focus.
