I'm hearing High On Life's actually a pretty good game, against all expectations. I mean, other than this softlocking bug

the worse bug is that you have a pooping gun with a mouth, and you dont reload it by stuffing meatballs in the mouth.

Justin Roiland is the person behind Rick and Morty, which should probably explain everything

I played it for about an hour (finished the first bounty) and it has an option to turn down the frequency of the chatter, just fyi. Even then it's very much a Roiland game where a bunch of the humor is just repetition. "Oh my god! You killed that kid! I can't believe you shot him! I mean, even though his species looks like a kid for a long time and he was 30 years old you killed an alien that looked like a kid! It wasn't even really a kid but still it looks bad! I hope we don't get a bad rating for this! Can you believe you murdered what looked like a child but actually wasn't?! Games normally don't let you kill kids, because that's a bad look and affects the rating! And yet you did! And we let you! You used me, the talking gun, to shoot what looked like a child! How does that make you feel?! Like holy poo poo! Other games don't let you do that, but we did! We practically forced you to do it! etc. etc. etc." You know that bit at the end of a Rick and Morty episode where they just keep going on and on about a thing for a minute? That, except now it's several minutes. It looks really pretty and I just got a new computer with a fancy graphics card so I might actually continue playing this game (for as long as I can stomach it) but I'm not sure, because I've also got Cyberpunk 2077 and a bunch of other games I can play smoothly with maxed out graphics for the first time in my life, lol.

Glitches in Blade & Sorcery tend to be fairly straightforward, usually it's just things going flying or getting stuck to other things, but the fact that it's in VR where you can directly interact with the bugged stuff just gives it that extra something https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/495308924178661377/1060281204907196527/flailtality.mp4

Sports Story evidently had a troubled production, I've been playing through it and finding lots of bugs that I hope get fixed. Most of them aren't too interesting, but I found an RC car race that seems to have trouble if you do it too many times in a row. First, it starts dropping you off onto the wrong vertical layer, but you can still see where your car's supposed to be based on its shadow: https://i.imgur.com/dLxww0p.mp4 If you keep going, though, it'll eventually dump you somewhere outside the bounds of where you're supposed to be, and things get weird: https://i.imgur.com/rpTbqii.mp4 The game tries to do a lot with vertical depth, but in doing so introduces more glitches than I would've expected from what seems like it should be a pretty simple 2D game.

Oh, that's cool. I love it when games start failing to clear the visual buffer, which is what's leaving those streaky "echoes" of the actual sprites and terrain.

You know, now that I think about it, I'm actually surprised that the Goat Simulator 3 intro, which does the Skyrim cart intro as a pisstake, doesn't bug out and launch you as a feature. Does run over people, because the rest of the world sim is active and people like to walk on roads like the one the tractor is driving on.

It is honestly amazing how many problems that loving cart ride has. One of the most common "you hosed up the setup somehow" consequences of trying to mod Skyrim is having the cart flip out. Even when the mod seems like it should have nothing to do with the game physics or anything.

I think the most likely end scenario of us giving more and more control to AI is going to be some weird glitch like that killing us all. Like, some rear end in a top hat tweaks the trolley problem logic to consider net worth as a factor and a couple of years later a billionaire gets cancer and the machines just start slaughtering people in descending order of wealth to harvest all their organs to replace the organs they just harvested from the previous person The machines will bring about the end of the world not by outsmarting us, but outdumbing us
