As soon as the GT2 passed the 917, James May declared it the winner and the old guy very obviously got off the gas. It's clearly fake, but whatever.

Well they did show that part where the guy wasn't allowed to work on his own land because Russia claimed part of it.

Yeah, right, that was fine. I meant in the intro, when they called the region peaceful, I immediately wondered if they're going to get themselves "accidentally" involved in one of the conflicts somehow. E: just caught up with the last episode too. The restomodded Delta was great but ridiculously expensive, the Stratos looks cool but yeah it's a hacked up Ferrari for 650k, dunno about that. Is the GT2 really 1900kg? I think the new M5 weighs less than that. Still, with lovely old tires I could see it possibly winning though on a tighter track. As for the helmet, it didn't look like there was any space whatsoever for one, but it's probably pretty safe as long as it wasn't the accident-prone little midget driving it. The airport segment was fun but reminded me that motorized suitcases were already a thing: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/modobag-world-s-first-motorized-rideable-luggage#/ The indigogo campaign raised like $800k but the whole thing fell apart as huge lithium batteries are somewhat problematic in luggage. Also it cost 1.5 grand which is a loving joke, it takes like $50 to motorize anything with a brushless motor and ESC mobby_6kl fucked around with this message at 22:29 on Apr 1, 2019 |

Grakkus posted:I disagree, I think they've been improving steadily over the last couple of seasons and were great in the latest episode. The thing about onscreen chemistry of this kind is that it takes time to develop and find its tone. Which you can't do if you're changing presenters every 12 episodes I agree with this, even the "So Called Top Gear" took several seasons to become The Top Gear, the handful of first seasons were only "mostly unusually not-boring car show".

That special was absolutely amazing, everything about it. However, I didn't see this scene in it. I guess there was about 6 days 22.5 hours worth of time they had to cut out

That's one of the still pictures available in the Xray. Don't read the last bit of trivia in the Xray, you guys. Just don't. You're better off not knowing. Amazing episode.

That was one of the best, if not the best special they've ever done. The axle hop was hilarious. RIP John.

I'll admit I pulled up Google Maps for Moron, Mongolia and tried to figure out their route. Amazingly good special. Making them build their own car was an excellent twist.

But I guess when you’re making bits on behalf of the richest man in the world, you gotta pander

Not all of them, but the arctic special had Jeremy and James rely on the one truck. I think that's what made it good, and that's what makes this good. A competition is nice, but it always ends with them sabotaging each others cars when the cars are already breaking. I'd love to see more specials where they get one car and they have to get it all the way there together. We have plenty of shows of them working against each other, but not many where they are forced to work together. Being forced to deal with each other gave the special a whole different kind of chemistry.

I’m not claiming that Stalin is a swell guy, I’m claiming that the propaganda is unfair to him and by proxy the USSR and communism to the benefit of nazis and wealthy scum like Jeff Bezos. We shouldn’t repeat old cold war propaganda, and instead have a more sober analysis and critique of history.
