Dunc'd on is pretty decent, their mock stuff is pretty entertaining. I also learnt way more about how the cap works listening to it. Lowe can be decent depending on his guest, he was best though as a foil for Simmons, you could hear his eye rolls after bill throws out a "who says no". Simmons I am pretty sure doesn't even watch ball anymore, I always looked forward to the season over/unders with House but this year it was just a throw away podcast rather than an event, the only time he's worth listening ing to is when Rappaport is on with him.

I find Rappaport pretty grating. Him ending up embroiled with chapo trap house was perfect and hilarious. I've all but fallen out of paying attention to Simmons. Lowe Post is consistently good imo though it helps if Lowe gets a guest who isn't just like him or balances him well. It's a shame about George Karl because back when he first came on the Lowe Post I thought he was pretty good and made a fun podcast partner with Lowe. Dunc'd On is fine for background noise, it's got solid consistent content but their voices/mics aren't the best.
The Starters still put out a bunch of stuff I find vaguely entertaining

The importance of this mission cannot be overemphasized
Zack Lowe is good with Jeff Van Gundy and David Thorpe, guys like that who really know basketball X's and O's and can hang with him talking about pick and roll defense, what sets teams run etc. When he's with a regular beat journalist it can be a bit bland.

Is that Knicks 8 point quarter the worst quarter of basketball in the season? Sacramento's 4th quarter against Utah was also extremely bad. Celtics against Washington at the start of the season was bad too, but involved a ton of shots not falling AFAICT.

The lowest third quarter total. Tied for the lowest overall:

So I finally made it to a wizards game today and I had a great time but the atmosphere is terrible. The wizards put up 75 in the first half and you would have thought they were losing if you could only hear crowd noise. Before this I have only ever been to Warriors, Kings (old arena), Lakers and Clippers games and I was really disappointed. Also, John Wall rules and I am happy to adopt the Wizards as my eastern conference team based on geography.

Problem with his show is he does it everyday and it's just too much. Should focus more on quality over quantity.

I listen to the Starters podcast almost every day during the playoffs, but usually not the rest of the year just due to shortage of podcast time. Open Floor has mostly replaced Simmons for my weekly basketball podcast, although I've started to throw Simmons on again for bad and wrong information about the playoff football games.

When I die, I hope they say I made the eSports industry a better place than I made millions of dollars.
I went to 2 Wizards games when I lived in DC. It's a city full of transplants of course the atmosphere is terrible. Both times I sat in mid tier seats and it was easily 50/50 home team / away team fans. The Wizards have also basically never been a dominant team so they didn't appear (to me at least) to have any of the same kind of loyalty that fans of the Capitals and Redskins have.

I'm going to pile on as necessary, as even before this people talked about how much of a self serving rear end he was.

I didn't read the book, just listened to the Lowe interview, and he made it pretty clear that he was talking about guys growing up without fathers because his own son grew up without him around, and I think he saw his son acting the same way as players who'd grown up without fathers. He clearly felt guilty about it, said they didn't really reconcile until he had cancer. As for the rest, I won't defend it. My point is simply that I wouldn't take it as harshly from the brain fried man as I would from someone in their right mind
