On Tuesday a large number of states in the South are holding Republican primaries. Republican primaries in the south are almost entirely made up of white southerners. Can you guess any reason why Trump would initially not condemn some racists, and only later gradually walk back from it? Too be honest though, I'm not really certain if this was a racial dog whistle to win himself more support in the south, or just a gently caress up on Trump's part that he was slow to walk back on because his whole persona is "strong man who never backs down or apologizes to the media".
