Well.. in order to level crafting you need to do poo poo like chop trees, mine different ores etc to convert all of that into other usable poo poo. Not sure what else you can expect right? I'm coming from World of Warships, The Division and the likes so it's a change of pace.

Think I may give this a try to fill my MMO void as well, until the Warhammer server is out of alpha at least. I read up on a few things about Tree of Life and see a lot about Pay to Win is destroying the game, is it really that OP? I have never even heard anything about an in game store on the games actual site.

Pay to win is not destroying the game. It just makes gathering stuff easier for the most part. It's more vanilla minecraft without voxels than something like albion imo.

There is a lot of gathering in order to build stuff. the combat is not outstanding but it isn't terri-bad either. Overall its fun, it would be funner if more people played it. The cash shop only sells a higher slotted bag and a mount, dunno how that would make the game pay-to-win.

The bags themselves don't give too much of an edge, but for reference, the paid bags cannot be broken and the free backpacks tinkerers can craft do break like standard armor. Don't have any info beyond that. The mount, however, is very pay to win due to the fact you get a mount you can summon for free whenever you want. That sounds completely normal, right? Not if you know that the free alternative is extremely difficult to obtain/craft and can only be summoned 8 times before it magically poofs away and therefore will not even last a week for an active player. So, basically if you didn't buy the expensive p2w mount, get used to walking, because there really isn't going to be another option. This is coming from someone who specifically trained themselves to craft mounts only to learn the whole process is an absolute sham and geared heavily into almost forcing people to buy the permamount.

Aside from the paid alpaca there is no pay to win element yet.. Running from one side of the world to the other without it sucks hot donkey balls but it is manageable if you have liquor or porn to entertain you. I think my run from NB to the phallus base was nearly a half hour. That included crossing a huge misty area where you can barely see poo poo and I ran into a mountain range that caused a huge detour. Also I ran into a base with gates wide open so I got sidetracked and not to mention all the "Squirrel!" moments when I stopped to farm mats. This is definitely not pay to win though.. not by a long shot.

Got as far as downloading, purchasing the mount and punching a tree and getting a rare mushroom from my effort, then I had to do 30 on the eliptical and then wife aggro for the evening. Mount should be in a mailbox, but I am going in blind and clueless as to where one might reside.

Since I only have literally about 5 minutes played, I am going to delete and start again. So at character creation, your choice of ships designates where you end up on the map? Somebody lay the basics on me. I have yet to open my pack, open a map, find a mailbox, or pretty much anything at all beyond the previously mentioned punching of the tree. It was night as well so I couldn't see much beyond a scattering of crappy looking structures and tables strewn about. I assume everyone is on the america server? One of the maps will have the coords of the Main base up north, you will need to come there to "apply" to the guild. 5. Well, I went to go buy this because I have an unhealthy obsession with hitting things to get metal and wood, but steam apparently locked purchases on my account again. Eagerly awaiting yet another 4 days before getting a response from support. Edit: Is the game down right now? The crafting here isn't any better than Albion's, just more obtuse. The only upside is that you can't figure out how mindnumbingly repetitive and boring it is as quickly. At its core it's just another hit trees and rocks simulator.

Also if you're hoping to jump in and have meaningful interactions with other players in less than 10 hours of grinding this isn't the game for you. You'll spend the at least the first hour just trying to figure out what the gently caress and also running around the map at the pace of a mall-walking grandma.

I cannot come up with a reason to gate crafting recipes behind skill levels at all in this game. There is no benefit to restricting builds; lower tier poo poo is either ignored or very temporary and if you want to pvp you have to have high tier buildings and equipment. There is not so much a sense of progression as an annoying grind to catch up and then nothing, really.

Problem with the gates getting lock picked all the time? I would wall off all the gates in the north base and simply add ladders on the walls. Why? simple, others can't enter our territory, so why built a gate for others to lockpick? Let's just build a ladder and use it to get in the walls. never use build the gate. Plus ladders are Super Cheap to build. TT

Alright, quick poll of Importance. Post here if you're still playing, and if you're new and/or care about skilling things like smithing or sewing at the moment. If all you wanna do is mess with people and don't care about the rest, post that too. Also post if you're somewhere between those or just wanna build walls or whever. I wanna try to get everyone accounted for in the next 24-48 hours if possible to see where we're at gameplaywise for diplomatic purposes.

Still playing on and off, want to skill up and collect resources in relative peace as we currently do not have the numbers to sustain any kind of war efforts we as Goons are typically known for. While it's true that we really cannot be fully destroyed despite our current kill on sight status by a fairly large alliance in the north and key gathering points in the south, it's no longer safe for us to really grow and train unless we find some way to get them off our backs. Likewise, we cannot eliminate them either, so I vote that we see things for what they are and admit that sometimes we may need to suppress the urge to "goon out" to actually thrive.
