I just had a thought. WHEN exactly did Brainstorm go back to kill Orion Pax? Because depending on when it was, Pax saved Meagtron's life. If he wasn't there to stop Whirl, the guy would have beaten Pacifist Megs to death and the cons never would have turned violent. But at the same time, it was after Pax's encounter with Megatron that he started challenging functionism as well so for it to end up as widespread as it was, wouldn't have had to kill Pax before their meeting? Which would have resulted in Megatron being killed in prison?

It is shown in issue #34 (we'd presume, anyway). It is long after Rung's experience as a cadet, but before Shockwave suffers his fate. Well, unless he was allowed to be a senator post-empurata. I don't remember.

Very shortly before Shockwave was empurata'd. Brainstorm v-shoom's out of the briefcase tunnel on the planet Messatine during Megatron's forced labour there. Digging into the continuity at TFWiki, there was a line of dialogue in one of the issues where the Swerve's Bar Crue are regaling Rung with tales of Orion Pax, SUPERCOP, that places Megs on Messatine at the same time as Orion's Matrix Heist. Megatron's already had the snot beat out of him and has started writing propaganda. So considering the locations of The Big Two, I don't think Brainstorm is trying to kill Optimus Prime. He's got a spacedrive, so we can assume that he WANTED to be on Messatine. Maybe he's trying to galvanize the Decepticon cause by martyring its leader. Clearly, though, it backfires.

LSOTW is excellent and should be read regardless. Of the Furman run, Stormbringer and Maximum Dinobots are probably his strongest work though I am partial to some of the Spotlights he did.

Jesus Rhyno, you've gone full plastic crack. So, just snagged Snarl, finally completing the AoE Dinobots I wanted (p. much everyone but Leader Grims and Deluxe Slash, who I might still pick up later). He's very nice! Maybe not my favorite but certainly up there with Scorn and Slog.

Well went and bought a Jhiaxus today at a local TRU cause he was on sale, almost went with Whirl but I figured I'd be more likely to find him again than Mr Orange would be, also saw the Optimus Two-Pack and was somewhat tempted(cause I've wanted a Classics Prime forever), but at 45 dollars(even if it'd be cheaper due to being on sale) I'm not quite sold on it(although if I joined in on the Secret Santa I'd probably buy it and send the Evasion Prime as my gift)

Don't get me wrong here, I love MTMTE and will read it as long as it runs. Best Transformers fiction ever, perhaps. That said, I do think they're starting to go off the rails just a little with the parallel ship and the time travel and so on. It's all good, but I'd really like the story to get back into a, uh, less 'out there' place for a while, you know? Just the ship banging around space and having adventures.
