Rush was laying it all out there today. Responding to a "study" conducted about being happy vs. being right and what makes for a successful marriage: quote:RUSH: Okay. Let me run something by you here, Jane. You know me. I love stereotypical things, humor, like mother-in-law jokes and that kind of stuff. They're old-fashioned. They're not considered funny anymore. They're considered offensive, such as, "Do you know what real conflict? It's seeing your brand-new Cadillac go over the cliff, but your mother-in-law's in it." That's an offensive joke today. Back in the old days, that was perfectly fine to laugh at. There was a phrase back in the old days, before the feminist movement. It went like... How old are you? No, I shouldn't ask that. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to ask that. They go on to discuss the obvious relevance of this "study" to American party politics. You can learn more about this "study" here: http://www.latimes.com/science/sciencenow/la-sci-sn-better-to-be-right-than-happy-20131217,0,5791072.story#axzz2nrxm9N5H Oh, what's this? quote:[Updated 10:30 a.m. PST, Dec. 18: The study was released as part of the journal’s annual Christmas issue, which features offbeat and humorous research on topics like James Bond’s drinking habits and whether redheads are more appealing to vampires. For those who were wondering, Science Now was well aware that this was not a typical medical research study.] I'm glad Rush is sticking to the "facts." Later: quote:You know, I didn't talk about it enough, but I got this piece here. Camille Paglia had this piece in TIME magazine this week. "It's a Man's World, and It Always Will Be." It's always going to be a man's world. The piece is extraordinary because Camille Paglia is a well-known feminist. She's a lesbian. She's a sexologist, a sex expert. She's an art critic. She really a brilliant woman in her own right, and she goes back and she chronicles this, aspects of American history, things that women could not have done, that women could not have built. Here's the article he referenced, by the way. http://ideas.time.com/2013/12/16/its-a-mans-world-and-it-always-will-be/print/ It's like 500 words. Too long for Rush to completely read. I find the way Rush Limbaugh builds his arguments to be really tedious, and it always feels like he's just trying to run out the clock between breaks. "I have a thing to tell you. In the beginning... oh wait, you know beginnings... they're things like at the start... like the big bang, which you know is just a bunch of liberal claptrap. The liberals created a story so fantastical because they had to compete with what we know happened from the Bible. Anyway..." He goes on these ridiculous tangents based on his own dumb thoughts. The only sentences he ever says without stumbling over himself are ones he repeats twice in a row because he's so pleased with himself. I want to speak to the person that does his transcripts to know how they numb their pain. They have to hammer his ridiculous barely-grammatical musings into something readable via text. That sounds like the worst job.

PPP did a poll about Santagate and BuzzFeed turned it into a listicle. The results are not good for the right wing. Also, only 2% of African-Americans think that Santa is white and more people think he's a Democrat than a Republican. Sounds like Romney was right about all those gifts!
