I know the drama behind this song owing to a misspent youth https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzBZmQHygRY My mate B, has himself a taste for the ladies. Has one baby momma "V" he's truly in love with, and has got her and this other girl pregnant within days of each other. He is now absolutely bricking it because he is hearing from both women that they are going to the same maternity classes. Meanwhile, girls 3 and 4 have a huge fight over who he belongs to at a house party, and girl 3 throws girl 4 into a fireplace so hard the chimney comes crashing down on her. She then writes the above song.

This one was slightly too early to count as Eurodance, plus it was a dumbass parody song by popular UK TV comedian Harry Enfield https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULeDlxa3gyc ..... but that didn't stop it racing up the charts, peaking at #4 on the UK singles chart and kicking off a live tour around the nation and an appearance on Top Of The Pops Here's the Stuff You Can't Believe You Just Figured Out angle: the line "Bosh bosh bosh, loadsamoney!" was later sampled and run through a vocoder by the KLF (working under the name The Timelords) in Doctorin' The Tardis https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsAVx0u9Cw4 That song had a weird mix of samples: https://www.whosampled.com/The-Timelords/Doctorin%27-the-Tardis/samples/

FreudianSlippers posted:That novelty remix of a children's show theme song sure is Justified and Ancient The KLF were a weird avant garde/dadaist/discordian/situationist prank which took the form of a musical act, everything they did was bizarre. The police car that appears in the music video for Doctorin' The Tardis was know as Ford Timelord AKA The JAMSmobile and was credited as the creator of the song on the record sleeve, and when a TV show asked for an interview about the song they sent the car to the studio and had a producer hide under a blanket in the back seat so it could "answer" the interview questions That's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to KLF weirdness

That's the best one by far since it was deliberately written to enrage racist skinheads (and obviously by my username, I'm biased). But some of the early 2-tone stuff is great, it's just ska-punk that mostly blows. Although there's a couple of Reel Big Fish tunes that work. There was also a small Italian punk band called Beerbong - despite the unpromising name they had one of the most killer drummers in the game and they had some ska songs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3I4ThLIZOM Failed Imagineer has a new favorite as of 14:11 on Mar 7, 2022 |
