I wonder what the capital depreciation table on a '74 MGB-GT looks like.

Just find a way to conveniently deny cell coverage and you're set. All kinds of people would love an excuse to escape from the always-on world and a car that's broken down more than its running is just the answer. Well, as long as it breaks down after you start driving it, not before.

I think that's in the sludge era and if it doesn't have some really good maintenance records it should be avoided. The SAAB thread has a lot of info on those cars if you dig around a bit.

I'm guessing in terms of separating out personal use, mileage would be easier, but that's not going to save him much, is it?

Vehicrosses never made it to Canada (although they would have been perfect here, our bumper laws prevented them from being imported until recently). I saw one the other day and couldn't stop staring at it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FoylQOpSC7k It still has a lot of cool features. Semi-remote reservoir shocks! Torque vectoring! The real question here is why that car even exists (meaning that specific one because of the low mileage). Did someone buy that as some manner of misguided investment? Has it been sitting in a garage for 25 years over a probate dispute? Just doesn't make any sense to me.

kimbo305 posted:Motronic -- are the 924 turbos a disaster? They aren't very good, especially the pre '79 ones. They eat turbos like nobody's business. The nicest way I can describe the pre-79 turbo setup is "primitive". The S2 ones are better, but not by much. The actual CGT/GTS ones have intercoolers and are much better. The problem here is that the parts are pretty tough to come by so keeping them on the road on any kind of budget could be a chore.

I would much rather have a 944 turbo if I have to hassle taking care of a Porsche. Edit: Kinda gold..... http://desmoines.craigslist.org/cto/3778203161.html Fix the little bit of rust and drive it around. The interior looks good and good on the miles.
