I was killed yesterday by a silent running car. Was scoped in, tracking enemies in the distance, then my body was hurled forward and it said I was killed by vehicle. I didn't know Erangel has Teslas on it.

Has anyone else had an issue where bits of level geometry float in the sky? Saw it for the first time last night, bunch of doors and guard rails floating above military island. Something wrong with my computer? Or just battlegrounds being buggy?

Yes, I had my Asus PG279Q (2560x1440) right next to my friends X34 (3440x1440) and he could see way more to the side edges of his screen than I could. I wonder if this will have to change if they want this game to be esports friendly? I don't think Overwatch lets ultrawide players gain an advantage like this.

I was crouched behind a tree because the jeep missed me as I just got to the tree. It then drove over a hill and I followed the sound to try shoot the guy, since he stopped... Only to have the Dacia silently run me over at full speed.

Horizontal+: This is where the view gets wider and yes, an ultrawide monitor does provide an advantage. 2. Vertical-: This is where the view doesn't get any wider, instead it cuts off the top and bottom. 3. gently caress You: This is where the game refuses to run outside of approved aspect ratios. The correct answer of course is #1 by default, with #2 as an optional server-side flag for competitive play and/or whiny babies. Devs who implement #3 or force #2 on all players should be chased with pitchforks. We had the same poo poo happen when widescreens first became a thing too, I recall some of my friends bitching about I think BF1942 only supporting 4:3.

RE: 21:9 displays and their FOV, I made a custom resolution for my 16:9 1440p monitor in the GeForce control panel to give it a shot for shits and giggles. I played a round or two and went back to 16:9 but having that much extra information felt really good, especially when just watching a ridgeline or something. The next monitor I get is probably going to be a 1440p 21:9, when they're not crazy expensive.

Is it resolution or aspect ratio that gives you more horizontal sight? It's weird if it's aspect ratio - if that's the case, why can't I get the ultrawide horizontal fov just by scaling down my vertical resolution on my 16:10 monitor? What if you play in vertical mode, do you see further up?

Seeing things far away is probably more important in this game than seeing a lot around you all the time so that's not surprising. I left mine at 90 because it feels good.

Of course I'm not using a ton of my screen, and things are rendered in less pixels so it's not as detailed, but it was fun to try. I can't imagine an ikaruga-mode would work though but it would be interesting to try it out, playing at 9:16 or something

How should I be approaching fights? When does my aim get messed up? At what range should I be hipfiring? When should I a-d spamming while ads? Does my aim get perfect immediately if I release the movement keys/hold breath?
