HM 5th May Dragongate Dead Or Alive Open The Twin Gate Titles Alejandro & Kaito Kiyomiya(c) vs Team No Hug (Dragon Kid & Naruki Doi) Watch this here MOTYC 5th May Dragongate Dead Or Alive Apuestas Steel Cage Survival Hyo vs Jacky Funky Kamei vs Jason Lee vs Kzy vs Shun Skywalker Watch this here I know people don't seem to engage with DG for whatever reason but I beseech you to watch this match. It's such a good example of storytelling in a match. Not just in a match, this is a bunch of threads that honestly go back, arguably, to Shun Skywalker turning on Masquerade to save his own mask back in December 2021, sacrificing Dragon Dia's mask in a previous mascara contra mascara match. After that Shun would end up joining the heel unit, invited by HYO, forcing Masquerade to disband, where he'd spent the next few months basically gaslighting Jason Lee that nobody liked him so he should join Shun in R.E.D. Jason ended up joining the dancing babyfaces of Natural Vibes & formed an elite tag team with Jacky Funky Kamei. Regardless of when you pinpoint it all to, Jason turned on his Natural Vibes partners to join the current heel faction Z-Brats. Meanwhile the now reformed heels of Big Hug, Hyo & Luis Mante, are trying to woo Jacky Kamei to be their friend, while Natural Vibes has been going through a crisis of confidence as they start racking up losses, with Strong Machine J notably refusing to take part in their prematch dance routine. So after a chaotic brawl between Z-Brats & Vibes at the Rey de Parejas Finals that saw Hyo running out to save Kamei from Shun GM Ryo Saito announced a mask vs hair cage match, all centred around Kamei, a guy who didn't debut until the no-crowd COVID era. They've really built it perfectly & the match itself played off all that so well. Kzy wants to hold Vibes together as it's the longest existing current DG faction & if he loses that probably ends. Hyo wants to show Kamei that he really is his friend & a different person from when he was in RED & Z-Brats, to earn his friendship, so has put his hair on the line in order to stand with him. Jason wants to humiliate his former tag partner. Shun? Shun is Shun, he's a motherfucker & he loves being responsible for people losing apuestas matches. (Is it apuestas or apuesta? My Spanish knowledge is essentially nil) And poor Jacky just want to get out of this mess with his hair. When WWE weirdos on Twitter insist you can only tell stories through badly acted segments & anything else is "just wrestling" I want to slap this into their face, but it'd be wasted on them.
